I run a local business and I deal with many companies. I have never dealt with such poor customer service in my life I compared packages and pricing between you and dish network as I'm sure many of your customer do. Obviously you are the better choice. I spent almost three hours on the phone repeating myself to several different departments. The sales departments were the only understanding people and helpful people. I spoke with a moser and a nia in one department that were so rude I almost gave up on trying to activate my account I was directed to call three different numbers and was on hold for long periods of times some departments kept saying they don't even have a supervisor that the representative was the highest of authority. I signed up with no problems I was scheduled the next day for service they didn't show up and then received a call to schedule an appointment so I called directv and got the run around and was accused of living at my parents house where she has service when I didn't live there and there canceling my installation because of my mother account at a totally different address an I had nothing to do with her account so then I'm directed to call another number to fax this mail this prove all this crap... Then was directed to call equifax to correct my address which wasn't even my mothers address on my report then called back got it rescheduled and all was good then got another phone call canceling my installation after spending hours correcting it which she was rude and wasn't understanding at all then called back to directv to see if services will be turned on and they said everything looked fine.. This cut into my work day for almost three hours of dealing with something that's none of my concern and shouldn't have had to deal with all of this....

Sincerely
LeRoy

I have jumped through every hoop that you asked me to do. I even paid $25 to have the requested documents overnighted. Now you refuse to allow me express my complaints to your corporate office. This is ridiculous. You have until Friday to have my service connected or return my money.

I signed up for DirecTV in February. I signed up for one year (12 months) and was also promised one free move over the phone.

I'm moving to a new address two streets over form my current address. I called DirecTV yesterday and was told the move would be over $200 (with taxes and fees) and that I was signed up for 24-months.

Excuse me?

I called again today and was put on hold for 15-minutes with no end in sight. I called back and got a supervisor who was no help. He wants to "accelerate" my issue and will try to get me an answer in 5-7 days.

In other words, he is a supervisor with no authority.

Anyone else have a problem with them?

I'm sorry. I thought this was America. What Direct TV and Century Link have around here is a monopoly. Last time I checked that was illegal.
AT&T and others have been banned here. I live in Cape Coral, FL 33903.
I hate Direct TV and I hate Centruy Link. They are both rip off companies who on occasion one rep or another has told me point blank "We're the only ones here. We can do and charge anything we want." I think I'm going back to rabbit ears.

They must be paying off local politicians like they are overpaying the NFL to have exclusive rights of the Sunday ticket. NFL ought be embarassedd being in bed with this crappy company. Congress should step in, like they did for MLB to make sure MLB was on all cable companies.

Nothing against any of you who love sports. Its just that we are very busy with our autistic eleven year old and do not have any time or desire to watch them. We just noticed that DTV has been billing us for some NFL station for 3 months. The managers reply was basically "so what, you got it free last year and it renewed automatically this year.( he could care less we never watched it, KNEW about it, had a new email address. And oh by the way, does anyone else have this problem of not being able to view their statement if they are past due on a bill, until they pay the bill. So you cant see what they are charging you for, until after you pay it.) Also they just added 4 premium channels to our latest bill that we didnt order. To that he said "oops!, our mistake". Yea , right!

Hi,
My ex wife got an account in her name when we were seperated. I wasnt not living with her nor had idea she had an account with DTV. I called in to set up service and they said my name was linked to her account and I was denied due to her past due bill... I asked the "supervisor" why he thinks I should have to pay her bill and he said marital debt... So I asked him if his wife commited a murder should he be held accountable for that and he said no.. I then asked him the differance and he couldnt give me a strait answer.. I told him he has lost a brand new customer that pays his bill over this and I wanted a refund on my card which had been taken out not even 5 mins after I gave them the number and he said it would be 3 to 5 days..

What you were TRYING to say was, "He could NOT care less."

"Could care less" implies that he did care, at some level, and that it was possible for him to care less than he did.

Sad that so many people don't grasp this simple concept. It's a common error.

My bill was past due and my cable was turned off. I paid the past due amount and my cable still wasnt on. I called direct tv and they told me that I couldn't have the cable turned back on unless I payed the full bill. My bill wasnt even due yet so I was forced to pay my bill before the due date in order to have my cable back on. They lock you into two year agreements and force you to keep their crappy ass service . The customer service reps aren't any help and the supposed call that I was to get from a supervisor never came. I have until january 2014 then I am done I really wish I didn't have to go another whole year with them . I am debating get the bill down to the lowest package and going with another service. I would not reccomend them to anyone at all..

People who post here should be able to write AT LEAST at a grade school level. If you have a problem with that, you must also be a moron. So sad for you.

I HAD been a DTV customer for 12 years with not so much as one problem. All ways paid my bill and liked the service. This past fall we were going to move and called DTV for the moving package and they told us it was no problem, but the agent got smart with my wife on the phone over a new dish in the moving package. I called back and the manager got smart with me, i said no problem, just cancel my service I am sure dish network wont get smart with me. THen the trouble started, it appears we leased one of our DVR recievers (of which i had no idea was a lease) and they said they would send a box for us to return it in. well no box, went 3 months no box, called every week no box, then they charged my debit card $219.00 for the reciever, finally after 20 phone calls and a tracking number got the box, sent it back, called they recieved it within 5 days, told me 6 to 8 weeks to get my money back! you would think after being a customer for 12 years you would get decent treatment but you can see what kind of company DTV really is! as long as you are a customer you are fine, when you decide to change they give you the shaft, there is no chance in hades i would go back to them now, they ruined that, dont get sucked in their scams, they are a sorry company with sorry customer support.
This is worse I have been charge for service that Direct Tv. never even installed in my house and did not signed any contract with them I have ask for a copy of the contract no answers but now I'm getting calls from collection agencies, how sad and how sorry this people are

I've had the same problem with them all year...I freaking hate them! I feel like they have been stealing from me. In my building we can only have direct tv. Worst customer service ever! In fact its out right now...im watching the nfl championships with my old school rabbit ears. Oh and if you call they put you on hold until your disconnected...yesterday 45 minutes; I made the mistake of asking for a manager. MDU their tech support...4 appointments only showed up once...1 month later out again.

I blame the NFL too. They are keeping these bastards in business with that lame, outdated, monopoly that the NFL ticket can only be on directtv. Congress fought for MLB to be on every cable channel but has done nothing for forcing NFL package on every cable company . I know what you mean though. In Florida it went out every evening in the summer because of tropical storms... Exactly when I need tv , when I came home from work. Thank goodness there was no forced contract back in 2000 like there is now and I got out easily. I guess they know they suck so they force people into the contract.
