If you Google Xanax you will find dozens of websites that sell it without a prescription. People will always be able to get these pills unfortunately. They are very addicting and the withdrawal can be life threatening. It can take several months to detox from Xanax!

"The Xanax potentially makes it a much worse overdose. It could turn a relatively mild overdose into something that could be fatal," --So erm, the Xanax is the culprit - not the Heroin that is causing the overdose?

It's like saying "that person falling asleep at the wheel would have been mild, but since there were other cars on the road it became a lot more serious"

People who really abuse drugs rarely are die hard to just one, I'm not saying the statement about adding xanax to a drug cocktail increases the risk, but that could be said for a bunch of things. Alcohol for example.

If you get xanax from a sight you google the best you can hope for is chalk, and not some poison. Youre definetly not getting good medications, This article and its assumptions suck.

I have never understood why some people abuse Xanax for recreational purposes. Hell, all it does is put my ass to sleep. I have script of it for panic attacks and that damn script of 50 .5s will last me 3 months or more. It is great for those nights when you can not get to sleep. It really should not be prescribed for generalized anxiety and used on a daily consistent basis because you will build up a tolerance and it will not work as needed for panic attacks. Everything I have ever read on it indicates that it should only be used for panic attacks and on a short term basis.

In a perfect world what you are saying would be true. However some people's daily anxiety and panic severely disable them.Often Xanax is a must in order to get out of their homes and participate in daily living. Many are not helped with cognative and other therapies.
