The generic DOES NOT WORK!! I have had nothing but problems since the change and now the real singulair is impossible to get. I have been in the ER twice and I need my rescue inhaler a couple times a day. Before the switch I never had to use my rescue inhaler and I haven't been to the ER in years.

I had the same awful problems with generic singulair (from Glenmark, India). I was stable for many years with Merck singulair , was switched automatically by Caremark to generic and then went downhill for a number of months until , with the help of various websites, realized the problem. I switched back to brand singulair and I am now perfectly fine. Generic singulair is crap. I have written to the FDA and all those suffering after switching to generics should do the same.
