Hives, Indigestion, Pain in the Urethra

Hi,

I was wondering if you guys could help me out. Over the last 4 weeks, Ive been getting hives after work. I work as a bartender and the hives and indigestion only occur when I'm about to go to bed, around 4-5 am.

It all started 4 weeks ago when I got an outbreak of hives for the first time in 10 years. Ive only had a hives outbreak once. I figured it must have be something I ate and went to bed. The next couple of nights, before going to bed, my hands would begin to itch, and hives would follow. Then I wouold get a pain in my urethra. After an hour or so, I was fine and could go to bed.

The next morning, and the few following hours onwards, I would experience a
uncomfortable pain in my urethra. After a couple of days of this, I went to a doctor and he prescribe me an antibiotic and ruled out STD's. I thought I was cured until last Monday when the hives followed with indigestion reappeared.

Now I have the same symptoms occurring at the same times but now with indigestion.

Any ideas? I haven't been eating anything new or such.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds as though you could have a food allergy
or a chemical allergy. Chemicals are in much of our food too. You could also have a yeast infection or allergy.Hives is usually an allergic reaction. What about the cleaning materials you use in the bar.I would suggest that you get your allergies checked out. Perhaps something is being passed out in your urine which is affecting the membranes in your urethra.Hope this helps.Good luck.anyway you are ingesting something that your body does not like!!!

I too have hives right after I feel indigestion (usually a burning sensation in my stomach. It only happens every 6 months or so at night, which is weird. The episode begins with my mid section starting to itch, then my eyes and the back of my neck, it then starts itching behind my knees, then my armpits. then it starts itching in my groin area and the Hives show up all over my body. the worst part is that the bottoms of my feet and the palms of my hands feel very swollen and sore to the touch.

IT HAPPENS ANYTIME AND ANYWHERE ALMOST EVERY MONTH I HAVE AN EPISODE.IT WOULD BEGAN IN MY SCALP , HANDS AND FEET AND IT TRAVELS ALL OVER MY BODY.WHEN MY SYMPTOMS STARTS I WOULD IMMIDIATELY TAKE BENADRYL 25 MG THEN SOMETIMES I GO TO 75 MG.IF NOT I WOULD HAVE A FULL BLOWN HIVES.WITH ITCHING AND BURNING PAIN ALL THRU OUT MY BODY.WENT TO ALLERGY DOCTOR AND HAD A SERIES OF TEST.IT WAS NEGATIVE.HE PRESCRIBED ME WITH SINGULAIR-I STILL HAVE HIVES EVERY MONTH.I HAVE FREQUENT INDIGESTION ALSO.

I had my first hives reaction 3 months ago, and several times weekly since then. It seems the hives have been reacurring as a RESULT of the indigestion from overeating. I don't know how this is possible, but I have ruled out all common allergy foods and all my tests have come back negative. I have also heard of people that were allergic to barley or hopps, Mr. Bartender.

I have been experiencing stomach pain & hives at night. The doctor just treats the stomach pain, says I have acid reflux. Never had stomach problems before, now it is a lifestyle. Every single day. It started 8 weeks ago. I'm getting an h.pylori test this week. I don't know what to do, if that is not the reason. It is affecting my life in a big way.
