strange and sudden allergic reaction

I have hormonal allergic reactions. The doctors didn't believe me but, i knew what it was. I had it for about 8 months after my second child (they are 13 months apart) When my hair when back to normal the reactions stopped. I actually had reactions so bad I needed to use an epi pen and multiple hospital visits. Well, it's 19 years later and they are starting again. So again I start with the emergency visits and a epi pen with me at all times. Has anyone else experienced this too and could anyone have a reason why they always start around 10 to 11 o'clock at night. All help would be appreciated.

I am a 57 yr old black female. I recently found out that I'm diebetic.(4 months ago)
I am on several different meds. blood pressure (3)
depression (paxil)(sinequan)
I have a cat which i have had for approx. 4 yrs.
suddenly I have developed a severe rash, started on my toroso, arms, back moved up to my neck swelling of my face from jaws down. when i say severe itching, its beyond severe. i have scratched myself raw almost. almost painful itching.
my doctor gave me a steriod shot monday and changed some of my meds. thinking it maybe a couple of them. put me on prednisone, atarax, loratadine. and none has helped the itching. the rash and iching started going to my legs, hips and female areas. 3 days later she gave me another shot. i'm still itching. seems like warm water and heat seems to make it worse. but when i was out in the cold today, it seemed to have eased the itching. i take a cold wash cloth and wipe myself all over constantly. that seem to ease the itching for about 10 mins. in the past 3 days, i haven't had but about 10 hrs sleep. no swelling in my throat or lips, and no breathing problems. my question is, could it be possible my cat maybe the problem. she is a inside cat and have never been outside at all. i have never had any allergies before. Could I suddenly developed a allergic reaction to her?
the only change in my laundry is i used a different fabric softener sheet. when the itching first started i re-washed those clothes twice and haven't worn any of them yet. i thought of shingles, but i don't have any blisters, and the rash is all over my body now. i asked if this could be measles and she said no.
the medicines don't seem to be working, well at least not to me.
nobody understands how severe the itching is. they just say "oh ok"
what should i do if this hasn't eased by my doctor appointment?
would appreciate any suggestions. please.

THe same thing happened to me when I was younger and I found out I was allergic to bleach. It's a matter of narrowing things down to what was touching that area. Or it could have been a big bug bite, haha.

Suddenly last night my whole body started itching. No rash or welts. No known allergies. The itching "migrates" from body part to body part for no apparent reason. Entire body tingling. I've never experienced anything like this and it's driving me nuts. Aloe vera seems to help: I had to get up in the middle of the night and go outside and cut off some aloe vera leaves because I was scratching myself raw. Got immediate relief, but only for ten or so minutes.

I'm wondering: could I have gotten bitten by a spider without realizing it? I have two small puncture-like wounds on my hand.

Here's one for you. I recently wore a new white shirt without washing. As it turned out, I was in the sun all day, perspiring and lo and behold, an ugly, poison ivy rash broke out on my back within days. Anyone else have this experience? Thanks!

Anyone (or no anyone) allergic to horses?? My 4 year old came home from camp on Monday with a bit of a rash, by the next day she was covered. Doc said it was contact dermatitis since the rash wasn't on the part of her body that was covered with shorts & tank. I'm thinking someone may have put a different sunblock or she suddenly became allergic to horses or perhaps the hay??? Anyone familiar with this??
I am allergic to horses as well, and not only do I get a rash wherever I touched the horse, I sneeze and my eyes water. Poor little girl!

I started using Bounce fabric sheets about a month and a half ago. Out of no where I developed a severe latex allergy. I think I have something called MCS (multiple chemicle senstivity). Now all of a sudden I'm extremely allergic to down. I've had down pillows all my life. Now we have to replace everything down in our home as well as dodge latex.

For those of you with Poison Ivy-like symptoms and are certain you have not come into contact with poison ivy, sumac or oak --
Have you been taking Alli weight control pills?

I have been taking Alli for just about a month and appear to have poison ivy. But any accidental exposure to the plant could only have been almost two weeks before the first symptoms appeared. Yes, it could be extremely late reaction to poison ivy which usually shows within 2 days, but...
I read an interesting thread on the Alli community forum which does not rule out the chance of others having an allergy to the pill.

Also uncharacteristic of poison ivy exposure, the rash seemed to spread, over the course of a week now. Especially on my back. Started as a small itchy spot and ballooned to cover a good 12 inches of my back. On my legs it started as one or two tiny itchy bumps that progressed to dozens and a large 3-4 inch rash on one leg.
Bumps showed on my abdomen almost a week after the first symptoms.
I still have much of the itchy rash after two weeks...

hi, i've been having these rashes for the past month. I always develop this kind of itchy clustered rashes all over my legs every morning at around 10AM until 1PM. I've watched my diet since 2wks and still no improvement. I don't know what to suspect as an allergen. Before, I thought that it were only insect bites but now, it happens everyday. I put Calamine Lotion to the rashes and take anti-histamine. Everday, every morning, this is my problem. can somebody help me or enlighten me? thanks so much.

You probably all are being colonized with staphylococcus epidermidis, or staphylococcus aureus.

Hi there. I've also been experiencing unexplained welts. I can literally draw on my skin using nothing but my finger, and within minutes I will develop huge welts that will last about 30 mins or so. I have been on Allegra 180mg for several months now to control full-body itching that developed as a result of Liver Disease [I should mention I'm 26yo]. I'm wondering if anyone else has had the same welt problem as me. Its very unnerving, and at work it makes it look like I'm cutting myself or something.

Allergic to Oak

I've known for a long time that I'm allergic to oak and certain other woods. I react to oak dust, oak smoke and to oak objects (such as tool handles) and furniture.

If I'm exposed to smoke or dust, I'll end up with a rash all over my body. It begins around the hairline (because the hair captures a lot of smoke particulates) and the exposed portions of my hands, neck, arms and legs. By the next day, the rash is pretty well all over my body. It looks streaky, with red welts and tiny red spots, and itches constantly. It lasts about a week.

So if you have a rash all over your body and don't know what caused it, consider that it could possibly be from exposure to dust or smoke.
