Tonsil Remnant

I had a tonsillectomy when I was about 5. Ever since then (or as long as I can remember) I've had what looks to be scar tissue or a tonsillar remnant towards the upper side of where my right tonsil was attached. It's this lumpy little thing that the doctor was confident was just a remnant; however, I was wondering if anyone else has had this. I've read somewhere that if it's a tonsillar remnant, it can cause some of the same allergy issues as the whole tonsil did.
