Allergic reaction?

Could this be an allergic reaction?
Do you know the crest glide strips dental floss? Do you know of the flavor on dental floss? Well lately Ive been using Crest Dental Floss and everytime I put my mouth completely on it my lips start burning, my tongue gets numb, my throat feels like something is caught in it, and my tongue kind of starts tingling before it gets numb. Is this normal or is it an allergic reaction?

I have had many episodes of bloated, swollen lips over several years. The first time happened after teeth cleaning by my dentist.
At that time he gave me Glide Dental Floss to use at home. This went into my travel kit so was only used occasionally when I traveled. At least four times, when traveling, I had swollen lip episodes. Last time was last week when I flossed before going to bed. Within 1 - 2 hrs. the allergy occurred. I finally made the connection between the cause and effect. Luckily my Dr. had supplied me prednisone tablets which work well in stopping the swelling.
