A family member has dust allergies...

...the other day they were pitching a fit because the upstairs bathroom had not been dusted. Their bedroom is downstairs, and they never have to go into the upstairs bathroom. But they went into that bathroom to see if it was clean, then ran their finger over the shelf and showed me a thin layer of dust.

This isn't my bathroom, so they weren't complaining about me, they were complaining about another family members lack of respect for keeping their house clean. They said that even though they rarely go into that room, the dust gets in the vents and therefore the entire house must be dust free at all times.

I can respect this persons wishes, but I feel they are so controlling in so many other ways, I'm not certain if they're being reasonable about this. Is this a normal request? Is it hard to say without knowing how severe their allergies are?
