A chiropractic program consists of 4 academic years of professional education averaging a total of 4,822 hours, and ranging from 4,400 hours to 5,220 hours in the 16 colleges. This includes an average of 1,975 hours in clinical sciences and 1,405 hours of clinical clerkship. The minimum hours for accreditation by the Council on Chiropractic Education is 4,200 hours.

Chiro Students do rounds through VA hospitals.
Constantly analyze X-rays and images from their first year.
Chiropractic has more clinical classes than PTs

The chiropractic physician must pass four levels of national board exams and a physical therapy exam to be eligible to sit for state board examinations. State board exams involve both written examination and oral practical exams involving clinical practice and x-ray interpretation.

After graduation, the DC may undergo postgraduate training to become board certified as a chiropractic radiologist, neurologist, orthopedist, internist, family practitioner, sports physician, rehabilitation specialists, clinical nutritionist, or pain management specialist. Medical physicians also may become board certified.

As I see it, this website is quite interesting do to the passion it seems to bring out. However, I notice that many posts seem to come from many who come from irony the diametrically opposed portions of the chiiropractic spectrum.
So as I see it, chiropractic is a profession that probably does have too many extremists, but why? Spinal and extremity manipulative therapy have been demonstrated to be quite effective in treating musculoskeleta conditions for over 40 years........ironically with most of the research coming from the medical profession.....Way back to Nachemson.......to Panjobi and White.....to Croft .........to Hadleman.......to Cox and there are hundreds.
Now.......as the undeniable finest of spinal manipulative therapy..........ad to that the fact that just a portion of our profession overlaps ALL of physical therapy..........although I will be the first to admit that many..........myself definitely not included..........over utilize passive modalities and under utilize active physical rehab.........well just these two facets alone........manipulation and rehabilitation are phenomenal.
However we also have the entire scope of a Dietician......an ATC ..........an orthomolsecular medicine specialist.......an accupuncturist and the ability to perform MUA .......with a tad extra training..........we are on the fore front of kineseotaping.......we can add massage therapy.......take xray....order blood work.....MRI....CT....PET..... ...SPECT etc. I could go on forever..........
So we may have the largest actual scope of practice that exists. I know that as a business person this profession has enabled me to open many clinics..........run a few other businesses and help many many people.
As I see it we should learn the research thats already out there..........really understand the importance of physical rehab and learn more each day. There is no need to hide behind the mail of philosophy.......instead...... ..open up your minds......learn and learn more.....realize that no one can cure everything but anyone.......with the knowledge....... can direct the patient in the right course..........So Thats how I see it
As I See It, you speak with more insight and intelligence in just one of your sentences than wisdom has in ALL of his posts.
As I See It, I recognize you as a chiropractic expert. I'm sure many others would agree.
Just to have balance, I recognize wisdom as a creepy, ignorant fraud who knows next to nothing about chiropractic chiropractic and medicine. Wisdom, in his depravity, even calls nurses (yes, NURSES)'quacks'.
As I See It, I applaud you on your professionalism.

I see NE's colleague washboy lied again. I would never call nurses quacks. Yet NE just nods his ignorant head up and down. Afraid to renounce his "brother".

So typically chiropractic.

hey NE ..... "pain management specialist"? ha ha ha What do they teach? How to put ice on an injury? Guided imagery?

Bottom line, the foundation of chiropractic remains the subluxation theory, as taught at the world's largest chiropractic schools.

Time to admit that fact, renounce it and denounce all the chiropractors and schools that promote that bull crap. Since you chiropractors are unable to do that, I have to do it for you.

And that's sad.

Wisdom just lied--yet again.
He in fact DID call nurses quacks.
I know. I know. Wisdom conveniently forgets his lies. Oh, but I'll refresh his memory. Wisdom's EXACT words on nurses. ".....and that goes for nurses too (after calling chiropractors quacks). Nurses do not need to take an entrance exam to get into nursing school. So you never know who you'll get. Therefore you should suspect all nurses are quacks like chiropractors. Neither had to take an entrance exam." Wisdom's EXACT words on nurses.
How expert like of him. What a jerk.

Just because chiropractors don't take any entrance exams to get into chiropractic school and just because anyone with the minimum requisites can get into chiropractic school, does't mean that you have to make up lies about nurses.

You chiropractors really are low life lying pond scum.

then again, this lying quack washboy, who claimed that, as a chiropractor, he can cure "deep wounds", could link us to my supposed quote, if it actually exists.

What? you can't? Gee did I just expose you as a lying chiropractor? Really too easy.

Ha ha. The best part of this blog is the fact that no chiropractor here will denounce your lies and stupidity.

NE, you are so dependable. Lacking any ethics or morality. But hey, you are a chiropractor.

Wisdom how does denouncing a person over the internet constitute ethics or morality. I have no knowing whom is a licensed and practicing chiropractor or not.

I will state that chiropractors are to treat musculoskeletal conditions and promote wellness though natural modalities. Anything abide from that is out of scope and claims should not be made. Ones who make false claims should be investigated and have their license removed... period.

I do not deny that there are unethical chiropractors.

However I see a systemic problem wrong with healthcare in general. The current model is on pain management and not functional restoring of realistic outcomes from a holistic perspective. Why is it that with all the technologic advances we are not a healthy happy nation. Seems the more advances we make in mainstream healthcare the less healthy we get. So as much as you want to abolish the profession of "Chiropractic" it will never happen. A conservative and more so preventative approach to anything should be the forefront of any treatment plan. If this

Almost ... but you are correct, your colleague "washboy" should have his license removed.

Sorry "washboy". BAM!

This, coming from a depraved pervert (wisdom Sandusky, since he has a fondness for diapers--very, VERY creepy)and wrote, "Too bad, they should suffer," when learning about the Haitian earthquate two years ago. This, coming from the perv who rejoiced when Dr. Karl Parker died, wishing that he suffered a long time before he died. And this, coming from the perv who wished Dr. Sid Williams would spend "quality time suffering in his wheelchair" following his stroke.
Wisdom DID in fact say all of these things. This is the sort of creep who is offering advice to you.

Let it go mr. chiropractor. Your colleague just said that you should have your licensed removed for claiming that you are qualified to treat wounds.

Let it go. You tried to elevate your extremely limited scope of practice by pretending to be qualified in something that you are clearly NOT.

Let it go.

NE, this country has some "unhappy and unhealthy" people in it not because of technological advances but primarily because of unhealthy habits, bad genes and unfortunate circumstances.

If you would actually spend some time in hospitals and actually learn about medical advances you might just be amazed. The quality of life for hundreds of millions of people have improved dramatically because of advances in medical care.
