Did the Newtown shooter suffer from "Lyme Rage"?
I was listening to Ed Schultz this morning when a man identifying himself as a doctor came on the air and urged that the body of Adam Lanza, the Newtown shooter, be immediately tested for Lyme Disease.

That's crazy cause I was thinking the same exact thing that his body should be tested, being that he lives in Connecticut. Although I don't think Lyme alone can do something to that extreme, I think maybe compounded with the Asperger's syndrome and his other psychological problems it would definitely make sense that it was a factor.

Christine. There does not have to be the Asperger's syndrom or autism.
Lyme disease itself can mimic autism, there are medical publications at pubmed about correlation between Lyme Disease and autism. There are many reports about Lyme Disease and violence. Please read dr Robert Bransfield's articles about agression and Lyme Disease.
One quotation from Bransfield's article:
"Frightening, stabbing, horrific images -usually of death, dying or pain and suffering. Often gory and unreal as in a horror story. Faces mostly with blood or terror exaggerated awful expressions. Visions of stabbing or killing often of those close to you or familiar. These penetrating images add to the already anxious condition of a Lymey. Episodic, not continuous. Fleeting faces most usually of the worse possible situation Helpless stumped bodies perhaps close to death. These images dont seem to necessarily be associated with a particular occasion, place or time, but come and invade the privacy of my mind. Control over physical well-being is lost with Lyme, but much more disturbing and debilitating is the lack of control or normalcy of the mind both emotionally and cognitive - perhaps worse during a flair when all symptoms often rear their ugly heads. It is a crushing experience to survive these images feeling possessed or evil. If they were to be continuous and not fleeting, no-one could or would survive."
These words, sentences written in Bransfield's article exactly describe my Lyme disease symptoms.
I've been undiagnosed for about 12 years! I caught Lyme when I was about 9-10 years old. Full blown Lyme disease appeared when I was 21 years old.
My worst symptoms were agression, homicidal urges in many forms accompanied with 2 years (non-stop) headaches. I knew I was sick, urgently looking for cause of my bad feelings (agression). About 3 years on antibiotics I'm quite normal now, without homicidal/agressive thoughts. I have seizures, controlled with medications. It was a nightmare, being agressive, homicidal, my mind was out of control. I had headaches (meningitis - inflammation of meninges surrounding brain)- thats why I felt physical pain.
But some of Lyme sufferers can be less lucky, because they can have inflammation of brain which itself does not give the pain and psychiatric conditions can be very very bad.
I think even, if shooter (Adam Lanza) had Lyme Disease it will never be said to public opinion.
