I wasn't talking to you, so butt out! What I posted had nothing to do with you, or anything you said, so don't start stuff.
Your compulsive nature has the best of you again, who let you on here in the first place ?

When I go out in public I get terrible migraine headaches that make me feel like a vein in my brain is going to explode. I'm not sure if it's the second hand smoke or loud noises that cause it.

I read that many things can cause migraines like bright lights or obnoxious perfumes.

You make a very strong case on your migraines and the millions like you who suffer due to selfish self serving people. Perhaps an anti street light campaign could be started for your benefit on this board. The city could supply all residents with flashlights for their safety maybe something like those garden solar lights would be better they are self charging. Fancy ones might be equiped with a fan to keep cool.Of course this would have to be approved by Homeland Securiy the moving lights might be targets for terrorists and muggers. All music should be banned before the childrens bedtime for a city of peace and quite. No jobs would be lost over this city workers could be paid 8 hours pay for a 4 hour day.

It's just not fair that there are all these people out smoking and listening to loud music and having a good time while I'm stuck in my Mom's basement with a migraine.

Hear Hear, if its getting to that point maybe you should get it check out? I mean your body may be oversensitive to some of the things your describing. I had a buddy back in highschool that would never come to a concert with us because it was a fact that he had over sensitive hearing. Not sure if there is any treatment but it would shed some insight.

Unless your just a big panzy, then disregard what I just said :)

Sorry. I just realized the last sentence said just about the exact opposite of what I meant it to. If you are interested in what I DID mean, remove the words "preventing the VFW from" so that it reads:
"If the decision-makers happen to be smokers, creating settings where all those nonsmokers would have to either subject themselves to the smoke or stay away seems more likely than appropriate."
If you're not interested, don't.
Here's the issue so to speak...there is still a VOTE AND if one or several don't like the outcome, they can stay & attempt to change the laws/rules with a new administration OR become members of another VFW, AM-VET or Legion post. THAT would be Freedom of Choice. What could be wrong with that?

Another big problem is loud music in clubs. I like to go out and watch my favorite rock or heavy metal band but the volume at some of these shows is just horrendous and can do damage to people who have sensitive hearing like m.
I think we should have a law that protects people from having to be exposed to these loud and harmful sounds. The FAA should mandate mufflers on any plane that creates a sound above 70 decibels.
It's just not fair that I can't go out and enjoy a night on the town without being exposed to dangerous levels of sound.
They should also ban these loud motorcycles that keep going up and down my street. And parents should NOT be allowed to have loud crying children in public. I think you should be given a citation if your child is crying or screaming in public for more than 30 seconds.
We need to make everyplace that I want to go safe for us with sensitive hearing. My doctor has told me that if I go into a boiler room for more than 3-4 hours my hearing can be permanently damaged and I may even go deaf. But I love boiler rooms and can't imagine not being able to be in one any longer.
PROTECT ME FROM GOING DEAF!!
PASS NOISE POLLUTION LAWS!!
I suspect that you are being facetious.

I DID supply FACTS. What I didn't supply is the identity of the VFW post. And since you are clearly someone with a malfunctioning mind, I will shield them from goofballs like you by NOT divulging their post ID.

Sarah, I'll have to disagree with you. I bartend in a very popular club/bar in Lafayette and the smoke issue irritates everyone working there, even the smoking bartenders. All I want is to be able to go to work and not have my eyes burning and nose running all night while I'm trying to work. I have to strip off my nasty clothes as soon as I walk in my house because the smoke smell is so bad. It'd be a blessing from God himself if this were passed. I talked to a few of our smoker patrons about it and they all said they would trade a designated smoking spot to not have the air completely saturated with 2nd hand smoke. Ive been bartending in Lafayette on and off for about 10 years and I have worked in many different types of bars. I guess part also has to do with a small percent of smokers who don't care where they exhale their smoke, as in right at the bartender or the person next to them. That's irritating and has caused many fights over the years. Kinda off subject I know. I think there should be a separate smoking area for those who choose to smoke, so that those of us that don't smoke won't be affected by the smokers decisions.
i don t smoke and never have, but as a non smoker i see the stupidity of control freaks over others, certainly an establishment should be able to make their place or parts of their place non smoking to their benefit or peril, that s free enterprise, but this is another control mechanism of a govenment which fails in it s primary purpose for existence to reach out into other arenas to prey on middle income america and steal weealth for their personal benefit, their new laws never are inflictable on their welfare group as they never produce anything anyway, if they are ticketed they will sit it out in jail and cost the middle income taxpayer more, so government agents knowing who their targetd paying customer is will assault those persons, no such thing as equal application of their laws, to put it as their police put it, we do what we can, that is theft
