Someone please explain why anything that costs over a trillion dollars draws "swift praise" from our President?

Do any of our elected officials know what the word "NO" means??

Does Senator Waxman plan to pull a few trillion out of his rear end to pay for this alleged healthcare plan?

Let's see..... first the banks, then the auto industry, now the healthcare system and insurance companies. What's next?? Clothing manufacturers, grocery stores or the water supply?

Waxman said we're going to pay for it which is a lie. Thye have their own healthcare. We the taxpayers once again are going to get screwed. But most of the fat and lazy liberals will think this is a good thing. Their always look for FREE stuff. Wake up there is nothing FREE when the government is involved. Also to the above poster he will see that Obama is spending the country into bankruptcy so he can turn it into a socialist country. Most people saya write to your congressman. Waste of time in Connecitcut with the 2 airheads we have

Now I want to see the section that makes it mandatory for all Government employees, including Congress, to be on this plan for their coverage.

If you thought unemployment was high before, wait until health care is mandatory for employers.

It won't be the regular "people who have been paying premiums for normal coverage" health care, it's going to be "government employee entitlement" health care.

If a Democrat tells you it's a trillion, you know it will be several.

Middle class moderates, wake up! There isn't enough money in the top 5% of tax payers to fund this at a 100% tax rate.

All those promises of no new taxes on the middle class are going to go the way of "transparency in government, reducing the size of the federal government by 10%, and my favorite, an end to bipartisan politics".

For those on the left, if Bush was really as bad a guy as you say, he would have made economics, math, and the history of failed liberal social policies mandatory courses in high school.

This alone would end the Democratic Party.

Universal health care will save employers billions. The current system is crippling small business owners.

Healthcare bill? You mean the forced, w/out debate socialization of the U.S. healthcare industry, don't you? Obama's way to reward all the deadbeat bottom feeders that elected him, as well as the soon to be legalized foreign trash whom will ensure his re-election.

Of course not.
Just like he didn't tell the UAW they were part of the problem for GM going down, etc.
The Trial Lawyer's Association and the UAW are the two biggest contributors to the democratic party.

Follow the money.

Hmm, spend trillions in borrowed money to save billions.

Sounds like a plan.

Howard Harper:

Someone posted that the CONGRESS inserted a clause which EXEMPTS THEM from this Health care legislation that they're propsing.

I can't find a copy or WHICH plan that person said it was in, but if these JERKS have the BALLS to demand that WE HAVE TO PURCHASE HEALTH CARE, and then exempt themselves?

EVERY ONE of these bills should die a slow and painful death in some obscure committee somewhere.

More arrogance from those bubble headed boobs in the washington beltway.

So sick of the "ruling class" shoving garbage onto us, while exempting themselves.

Rasmussen Reports:
Forty-four percent (44%) of Americans say the Obama administration should wait on health care reform until the economy improves.

But 43% say health care reform should move ahead now, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of 10,000 adults nationwide. Twelve percent (12%) are not sure which course is best.
Awwwwwwwwwwww, now THAT'S gotta suck for all you Obama people out there who think the nation wants UHC

Obama doesn't even have the support of the independents.
69% of Republicans favor waiting until the economy gets better. Among adults not affiliated with either party, 41% want to move ahead now, but 45% want to wait for a better economy.
The number of republicans in this nation, along with the independents in this nation, that pretty much outweighs the democrats.(Swamps them actually)

The nation just doesn't want to create a MASSIVE NEW ENTITLEMENT when the federal government is such a phoeked up mess, they can't even fix the entitlements WE ALREADY HAVE.

The federal government is a MESS, and we don't want them creating NEW ENTITLEMENTS.

Sure. Help the small business owner and rape the pockets of the average employee of a mid-sized company. Sorry, you took the RISK of starting a small business. We'll have to bail you out as well.

If the health care system is broken, how does changing who pays for the broken health care system fix the problem?

Just wait, sometime in the near future, government run health care system "premiums" will come directly out of a citizens paycheck, just like federal taxes, etc. This won't be a choice, whether one uses the governments DMV style health care or not.

You won't find that section. However, there is one that explicitly EXCLUDES Congress and federal employees from the bill. Both Senate versions include the same section, plus exclusions for union employees.

How?

Health care is now voluntary, there is no non-union company that has any obligation to provide health care. How is this crippling?

Don't just continue the Obama talking points, tell me how additional taxes on employers and employees is going to reduce the cost.

How is limiting the profit a private drug company can make going to generate inovation?

How is the government paying hospitals and other care givers in 90 to 120 days going to help? How is paying them at 60% of market going to help?

How is universal health care working in Mexico?

How can you still believe anything that comes from this Congress or Obama?

Maybe if the Democrats, led by Pelosi and Reid, hadn't squandered most of the "stimulus " money on liberal do nothing
government projects they would have money left for healthcare.
Too bad they didn't use the cash to LOWER HOME MORTGAGE RATES. This would have given consumers an instant shot in the arm and created real Stimulus that lasts longer than a 2 year government contract.
Thankfully their new Socialised Plan is too expensive for even the Marxists running our country.

How about if they (Legislators) first make Social Security and Medicare solvent, to give us a little confidence.

Then maybe I might listen to their drivel.

Look at England and Canada where the single pay system is rationing treatment. England just started not giving the necessary treatment for women with advanced breast cancer.

All of you AARP'ers who are sucking down the liberal garbage better wake up! You will be the first to go because of the cost and return which is little in their eyes.
