I'll get back to you. That's a tough one.....NOT.
FYI, heart surgery in America averages $30,000.
Fly to Ireland and get it and pay a total of $4,000 and that
includes the flight, hotel and procedure.
Hospitals are feeling the heat and many are now switching and using the model that Cleveland Clinic is using which has cut costs and actually made healthcare less wasteful and far more productive.
The ACA is law. It's not going anywhere so you better hope it's successful because it seems to be the only thing as of late that has forced hospitals and insurance companies to re-evaluate their greed, their waste and their devastating effects on the US economy.
No where else in the world can you get sick and lose everything you've worked for like you can here in the so-called "greatest country in the world". That is NOT going to happen to me and my family because in case you hadn't noticed, it's not that hard to beat the system since the idiots running it are, well, idiots.
Hmmmmmm....let's see.
$1000 fine or pay $6,000 per year for Humana Insurance who has yet
to pay us a dime for any visits to the doctor? So, the ACA really can have flaws, according to your statement. No guarantees or caps on future increases? That is a situation that will cost the American taxpayer billions if not trillions, because, well, we know how SLoooW the politicians get around to addressing issues. I am not up for them using me as a guinea pig for the bloated ACA.

ACORN isn't defunct. Perhaps you should teach yourself something and take a quick look at the process ACORN exercised to supposedly become defunct, which was basically one mid-level officer of the company stepping down and the exchange of $9,000 from that officer to the person who replaced her. And while you're at it, take a gander at all the different titles and international corporations that make up the network of companies and organizations formerly known as ACORN (at least here in the U.S.), note all the legal troubles and name changes that have occurred over the span of years, and after you've sifted through all of that, note that one individual is and always has been at the top.
Smarmy know-it-alls like you can't learn anything, though. You're already so smart...too smart to ever be wrong. So please, keep bringing on the sarcasm that you mistake as witty repartee. The only one fooled is you.
Oh Chico... I guess the whole concept of asset acquisitions just flew right over your head huh?

Tell me, oh knowledge one... How does the continued use of assets by another similar entity make it the same entity that previously owned said asset?

Or better still, How does an entity becoming defunct therefore ban it's previous workers from working and/or pursing leadership in the same field of that now defunct entity?

How strange that you believe so strongly in a new entity being the exactly the same as the similar one that is defunct as a matter of undisputed fact when it comes to the Non-profit sector but completely ignore the private sector's use of the same process.

I called up Delta today to get Pan Am tickets. they told me that there wasn't any, When I explained to the nice lady that I was told by a very smart internet poster that Delta was Pan Am because it owned Pan Am assets she told me the poster was mistaken.

Are you calling that fine customer service worker a liar?

We have Humana. Have had it for years and have paid thousands into it. Guess what we got back? First, a sign at the pediatricians office "We no longer accept Humana". Then, hubby gets bit by feral cat trying to help old lady out and we are told by animal control that we can't go to a doctor, we HAVE to go to the ER to get the series of rabies shots. Total bill for shots?$12,000. The insurance counters with $900 and tells us they won't pay a dime, which they didn't. We paid the entire thing and then decided we are going to drop Humana and you're damn right we are going to sign up for ACA, just like millions of other Americans. It's our way of saying "F U insurance industry".

Oh, and if you think we're the only ones fed up with the criminal activity insurers have displayed for decades, not to mention the outlandish prices that hospitals charge for the most basic of services, think again. The time for change in the medical industry has come and not a moment too soon. Diseases related to obesity are predicted to cost Americans trillions in the near future.

But you already knew all that, didn't you, zippy?

So on the 5th day they rested. Obamacare system is down for awhile. This has to be the biggest boondoggle Americans have ever been saddled with in her 237 years. When a piece of legislation is put together by people all hopped up on drugs, it is almost impossible for sober people to comprehend. That is what we have here. A bunch of drugged up Democrats put together a piece of gibberish no one can deal with, and called it done. Now when it is supposed to be enacted it can't be done. So today they threw up their hands, and said it is down for repair.

Feel better?

I understand asset acquisition. I also understand rebranding, and that is all that many of the hundreds of organizations under the ACORN umbrella did. They have the same directors, same employees, same offices, same missions and the same tax ID #'s. They simply changed their names.

I didn't make any comparisons between ACORN and any other organizations, non-profit or private sector. You did. So while your brief fairy tale was amusing, it was also a complete waste of your time.

I'm not even remotely interested in writing. However, if you're going to criticize others, it would behoove you to use proper grammar and punctuation. It might have more impact that way, if I cared at all.

I don't.

Now, you have yourself a nice day.

My dear friend, you clearly stated that you believe that something exists because the hundreds of pieces it was smashed into still exists and was acquired by similar organizations and networks. I would be happy to provide you with the link of you going down list by list of organizations. Unless you are stating that you were simply telling me a fairy tale.

Really Chico, you start criticizing my writing when I point out your confusion (and on going theme with you) and you say I am the one that was criticizing you first?

Like a concerned classmate I simply pointed out your confusion in the applications of repartee and sarcasm, even going out of my way to humbly admit my own shortcomings in my writing before pointing out your own and this is how you thank me?

If a company or an organization is acquired by a new organization or network, they would be required to file for a new tax ID number. A company or organization that merely changed their name is not required to get a new tax ID number. Many of those "smashed pieces" you referred to changed their names and nothing else.

I didn't criticize your writing, but that you choose sarcasm and insults rather than facts, all under the guise of teaching me a lesson.

Now, if you want to address reading comprehension, then kindly review your own posts.

I never made a comparison or even mentioned any difference between private or non-profit businesses, yet you wrote a response to something I never said.

You referred to me as "you conservatives"...I'm not a conservative, nor a Republican, nor a Libertarian. I'm a lifelong Democrat, though I freely admit that I am more to the center than I am to the far left on some issues, primarily fiscal issues.

I pointed out that if you're going to criticize someone's writing, you should at least take the time to assure that your own written criticism isn't laced with grammatical and punctuation errors. I never said anything about who criticized the other first.

Lastly, I'm not your bro...that would be sister, miss or madam.
