I would encourage my kids to lead a healthy lifestyle which included fitness and nutrition. I make them aware of pollutants and/or enviormental toxins. I teach them or make them learn about statistics and the process behind studies. I would make sure they learn what variables can affect a study and/or outcome. I would encourage them to question everything and get 2nd and 3rd opinions. I would make the doctors and/or medical community cite they studies they are using.
If they want to go to a fortune teller ie these genetic prognosticators it is their business. But their choice will be an informed one.
