I'm not sure that we can ever put a figure on the value of life but drugs that are developed to save lives need to be brought into the real world.
How many people can afford to pay thousands of dollars each month for a drug?
Health care is better in Great Britain and Canada because it is supported by their governments. Equal treatment is available to all rich or poor and drugs are affordable.
How can we so often called the greatest country in the world do less?

I am on an "experimental drug" (4+yrs)after originally being given 2-3 months to live. Drug now patented and it is expensive. Is Canada and Great Britain Health care BETTER or just CHEAPER? We all have monetary support of someone, however, I pay (monthly wife and I) about $195. Medicare premium and another $520. for supplemental insurance and drugs. Our country can be called the GREATEST COUNTRY in history because of one thing and that is because we are all independent and support and care for ourselves and are not tax supported with someone else paying for our existence. I am terminal but all life is terminal. Thanks but no thanks for an idea of a government caring for my wife and I. I choose to make my own decisions! JM

to some degree i understand and agree with what ur saying, but i gotta admit i wouldnt turn down gov. support with these drugs. but like u said life is terminal, so it seems it wouldnt be cost effective for the gov. to do so.

guess u can put a price on life afterall...
