Having a national joint registry have been proven to be very useful especially with the debacle concerning hip implants. This was demonstrated when the UK authorities came up with solid statistics and were able to provide concrete solutions. Hopefully this will be done in the US and will for sure help concerned authorities in dealing with the problem. Articles mentioning the joint registy of UK and how it benefits the govenment are available in http://www.depuysettlements.com/
