An Albuquerque city councilor now says his proposal for a complete indoor smoking ban, including in cigar bars, went too far.

Smoking is bad in the first place! Selling any smoking products should be banned in the city!
Those that want to continue smoking which is an added nail to the coffin should smoke where there's not people around; 1000feets away from non-smokers!

And let us make a list of dangerous and morally outrageous things like: dihydrogen monoxide, plastic bottles, city water, candy, fast food, alcohol, gasoline, fertilizer, herbicides, aerosol cans, peanuts, pornography, cell phones, automobiles, airplanes, TV, APS, politicians and morally indignant legislators in the public.

I am all for banning the dihydrogen monoxide. There is billions of tons more of it in the atmosphere than the nasty carbon dioxide. If we ban the dihydrogen monoxide we could probably clear up all the global warming for the next hundred million years.

Totally ignorant and irresponsible post. Of course smoking is bad, but who are you to decide if a consenting adult wishes to kill himself smoking? This isn't your call thank goodness. Frigging liberals...

My friends, the next step is to tell all of us that we cannot eat what we want!!

When they get smoking and alcoholic beverages banned, then they will ass ume they have the perfect right to tell all of us who are a bit overweight that we cannot have lunch or dinner and for sure we cannot have anything with the horrid, dreadful FAT in it!!!

...and then they'll tell you you can't wank in public, and that cocaine is bad for you, and to cleanse with soap, and to obey the speed limit--the horror of it all!

I cannot believe that Cadigan said in the forum that if he had his preference no one would smoke because it is a bad health choice. This guy is a total socialist and I am glad he is not my councilor. What a control freak!

Cadigan actually admitted that if he had his prefference that "no on would smoke because it is a poor health decision." This shows how smart he thinks smokers are. He thinks he has to save you dumb smokers from yourselves. I cannot believe he actually admitted that... classic foot in mouth...

In the land of the free, it seems like we are losing our freedoms pretty rapidly. With all of these freedoms being taken away, I think America itself is lost. We need a new America... one that truly is free.

It would appear that most of these posts were written by radical people without a clue what civil liberties means, like the one that starts this forum.

If someone wishes to smoke that is their business. If they decided to smoke in my car then it's my business. If the restuarant allows smoking then I have to make a choice to eat there or not. Same way at any public event.

If you can't stand the smell of smoke stand upwind. If someone wants to slowly commit suicide then talk to them about it or stand upwind.

Cadigan can kiss my grits with his 'I'll save you from you mentality'. Smoking is a personal decision and not one that anyone else can make for me.

Grow up and be an adult for once all you inmature chumps that think they can write, just grow up.

The well funded lobbyist hired by the smoking cessation companies through the tax exempt charities will keep badgering local lawmakers, telling them that the only way they'll "go away" it to pass total bans. They have absolutly no concern over local issues. They will keep returning.
