"FIVE at FIVE" The Zyprexa antipsychotic drug, whose side effects can include weight gain and diabetes, was sold for "children in foster care, people who have trouble sleeping, elderly in nursing homes." Five at Five was the Zyprexa sales rep slogan, meaning 5mg dispensed at 5pm would keep patients quiet. Google * Eli Lilly Zyprexa * and read the links, this is for a product that we put in our children's bodies. This drug company has a reputation a little better than a mafia drug lord. BTW-I took Zyprexa it gave me diabetes and was as addictive as tobacco. How so? Because withdrawal is accompanied by severe insomnia for 6 weeks. It was harder to quit Zyprexa than cigarettes. Awful stuff and $10 a pill ------- Daniel Haszard http://www.1url.com/0vi Eli Lilly is reaping what they have sown! The Lilly Zyprexa saga will go on and on and on.....

Hello All, I am having trouble thinking of words to express my horror at children being given Zyprexa. Do they think children in foster care are children upon whom to experiment. Zyprexa killed my late beloved husband who was thirty-five when he passed away. He was a strong healthy man before the last weeks of his life here. If Zyprexa killed my strong healthy husband, what will it do to children? Are the people at Lily monsters?! I say so!!! Walk In Balance, Theresa

It seems only prudent to me that the FDA (and law enforcement of some kind?) should investigate ALL Lily's drugs at this point. It should now be assumed that if they would intentionally do this with one drug, why not others? I took their Byetta (reluctantly) and am certain I had a bout of pancreatitis from it. All the signs/symptoms were there. I eventually "recovered" and my doc doesn't feel comfortable attesting to a firm diagnosis, but I have no doubt that is what it was...and it was the week before the FDA came out with the warning of the link between that and byetta. I think the public should be protected by having every Lily drug investigated.

Now what can be done about it is another story. Eli-lily knew how deadly zyprexa was also and have gotten away with killing thousands of so called "mental" patients. They pay the FDA to push the drug thru to the unsuspecting public. After all who cares about anyone these days if you are considered "mental". I know it is not right, but so far who will represent someone that nobody will listen to? I have been used as a lab rat, guienna pig and thrown in the corner to die. I am not sure but i think some people get labeled mental so the dr's will have someone to practice on. I even hear that when you are on disability you have no say about anything and you belong to the state and dr's can do whatever they want and you have no say in the matter. Its very sad that Eli-lily kills alot of people with the deadly drugs they put out on the market but what can you do?

Dear Lost, You ask what can you do. There is a lot you can do. You can warn people about this horrible drug on the forums you frequent. You can email your senators and representatives as well as the FDA. I even emailed President Obama. If you save even one life by your warnings, you will have blessed that person and her/his loved ones. Walk In Balance, Theresa

Yikes, i am going to stay away from that one. Haven't been having much luck with the meds lately so i am going solo for now. It's sad that these companies would rather make a profit with a nasty product rather then taking the time to make a better one to actually help people. Disgusting

Dear Healthfanatic, I am so sorry the meds aren't working for you. My late beloved husband did fine with Lithium. He was given horrible Zyprexa to ease the anger episodes. There are lots of medications out there. Why should patients have to do all the research on the results of these drugs. I hold the doctors just as responsible for prescribing or giving these dangerous meds to their patients. Walk In Balance, Theresa

this drug led me to be admitted to the psych ward because it made me feel restless and unable to be still. i also gained 20 pounds. a report showed that Eli Lilly knew the drug caused unhealthy weight gain, but they didn't disclose this information. i also agree with Theresa from the above post - the doctors should be responsible for prescribing these drugs. i'm so glad this forum agrees! we should all start a class action lawsuit. people could have died on this drug.

Dear Toronto,
" Could have passed away " is not the operative phrase here. Thousands of people including my late beloved husband passed away because of horrendous Zyprexa. Most of the people like my husband came down with sudden onset of type 1 diabetes, pancreatits, triglycerides going out of the roof, and the list goes on. My late beloved husband had total organ failure. The doctors even wanted to amputate his hands. Fortunately, they didn't do that. My late beloved husband was the sickest person in the hospital. He couldn't talk for the last three days of his life as he was in a coma. This is what Eli Lily did to my husband and thousands like him and their families. So when you think about Eli Lily, think of them as mass murderers.

At least they weren't being given the drug scopolamine. The most prominent criminal network in GA's history uses this drug to scam wealthy retirees. It causes Alzheimer's-like symptoms. www.ssiTheFamily.com
