Good post.I learned that the success of hip replacement of implants depends largely on 2 things - the age of the patient and the type of implants used. It seems that the cementless types of implants were better than other types and patients who were given these had better success rates.

I have read a lot of feedbacks about hip replacement and the procedure as well as the device used in the procedure is becoming a concern. This is an interesting post about the procedure and a possible alternative. As I was digging deep into the topic, I came across http://www.hiprecalllaw.com , which also gave valuable information about hip replacement.

Studies shows that Unlike traditional hip replacement, hip resurfacing doesn't replace the "ball" of the hip withua metal or ceramic ball. Instead, the damaged hip ball is reshaped and capped with a metal prosthesis. The damaged hip socket also is fitted with a metal prosthesis similar to what is used in a conventional hip replacement. http://www.depuypinnaclelawsuit.com/last-year...

Vitamin D in high doses helps with pain. I take 10,000 IU every night before bed and my pain is little or none. Before I was taking the vitamin D, it hurt to walk and to use my hands. Also, the doctor told me to take it and so it isn't something I am just trying on my own.

Yes, there is actually a difference between the two. Hip resurfacing, from the name of it is only about fixing and treating the surface of the genuine ball in the hip joint. Hip replacement on the other hand is about removing the entire ball and replacing it with an artificial prosthesis that performs the same function. It all comes down to which has less risks. Therefore, based on http://www.rotlaw.com/stryker-abg-rejuvenate , hip replacement ain't such a good choice. Moreover, several reports claiming hip device complications almost always include devices used in hip replacement surgeries.

Both types of surgeries have their own merits. Having hip resurfacing for the younger guy makes sense since this younger may need another replacement in the future. But with the failures of the metal implants, the hip resurfacing surgey has once again been questioned. This was supposed to be good due to the materials used. With the failures of hip implants such as the DePuy ASR hip systems, the choice of total or resurfacing must once again be considered more extensively. Know more about these types of hip implants be refering to DePuy ASR hip lawsuit information center.

While hip resurfacing may have lost favor a few years back, it has now revived some interest especially that these are recommended for the younger guys. The new materials are supposed to improve hip resurfacing. However, the massive failure of the all-metal implants such as the DePuy ASR hip systems have once again put this type of surgery in question. For more information about this, you may visit DePuy Settlement Information Center.
