This can be an alarming news. The government has to do something about this.

Alarming news? What exactly is so alarming about it?

The United States is home to 307 million people of which 155,649,000 are of the female gender. 12,000 represents only 0.000771% of that population! Furthermore if you'd take the time to do some research, you might find that there are only 2.4 deaths per 100,000 (averaged among all races) women from cervical cancer! By any standard, that's tiny.

Here's the link:
http://www.cdc.gov/features/dscervicalcancer/

And from the National Cancer Institute here is their information:

Lung Cancer: Deaths: 160,340 (37.9 times greater than C.C.)
Colon and Rectal Cancer: Deaths: 51,690 (colon and rectal combined)(12.2 times greater than C.C.)
Pancreatic Cancer: Deaths: 37,390 (8.8 times greater than C.C.)
Prostate Cancer: Deaths: 28,170 (6.6 times greater than C.C.)
Leukemia: Deaths: 23,540 (5.5 times greater than C.C.)
Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma: Deaths: 18,940 (4.4 times greater than C.C.)
Bladder Cancer: Deaths: 14,880 (3.5 times greater than C.C.)
Kidney Cancer: Deaths: 13,570 (3.2 times greater than C.C.)
Melanoma Cancer: Deaths: 9,180 (2.1 times greater than C.C.)
Cervical Cancer: Deaths: 4,220
Thyroid Cancer: Deaths: 1,780

Note that I can not post the N.C.I. data as a link because each cancer had to be researched at their site on an individual basis unlike the C.D.C.

The facts are that cervical cancer is a very rare disease. The ONLY cancer reported by the N.C.I. that is more rare in occurance is thyroid.

That being said, why don't you get your head out from where it does not belong and do some research. Heart disease KILLED 292,188 women in 2009 in the United States. I'm not suggesting that the "about 4,200" women, or 4,021 quoted by the C.D.C. are not important, but shouldn't we have more focus on 292,188?? Is that not a MUCH larger number? Incidentally, the figure that I have for the year 2007 regarding heard disease deaths in women for the U.S. is 316,000.

Puts things in perspective, does it not?

I suggest we concentrate on the big picture and keep noses OUT of where they do NOT belong. Allow women the dignity they deserve. Let them keep their privacy PRIVATE.

And another thing.....it says there that you are in/from Manila!

What is your interest in our women?
Is it sincerely humanitarian, or are you employed by some PIG gyn to perpetuate exaggeration, untruths, and create some false sense of urgency for a physical examination that is most likely unnecessary?
