The hip replacement recall was announced several months too late. DePuy received data from foreign registries indicating that its hip replacements have a higher than normal failure rate. Even the U.S. Food and Drugs Administration had received about 400 complaints from the ASR recipients. It is clear that DePuy failed to take appropriate action regarding its defective devices. Iíve read about a different hip implant having problems here http://www.depuypinnaclelawsuit.com/ . Although it has not been recalled, people filing for a DePuy Pinnacle hip replacement kept on increasing.

Some of the lawsuits filed against Johnson & Johnson and its subsidiary DePuy Orthopaedics Inc. alleged that the DePuy hip replacement recall had come too late and that the manufacturer have long known the fact that their metal-on-metal ASR hip implants are defective and yet they did not immediately implement the recall. According to this website http://www.depuyhipreplacementlawsuit.com , the recall was announced after medical studies suggested that the hip devices will fail just five years after it was implanted and not 15 years, which was supposed to be its lifespan.

This is to prove that metal on metal hip replacement system has a high failure rate which many patients affected by the side effects and complications. A reason for mounting lawsuits filing against the manufacturer on behalf of the patient for them to claim for their compensation. I had also read http://www.rotlaw.com/hip-replacement-lawsuit...
Who has a different approach with the complications associated with hip implants.

Johnson & Johnson may have announced its recall a little late. Considering the number of recipients who have filed lawsuits against the manufacture for a failed hip replacement surgery. Probably because some symptoms did manifest years after their surgery but its not a reason for DePuy Orthopaedics to be held not liable. A medical device like hip implants should've been tested thoroughly before making it available in the market. See the DePuy Recall News Center site.
