My mother had breast cancer having both breasts surgically removed. She has always been fond of dairy products. She's been cancer free for 12 years and has never given up dairy. She's doing great. When my father had a severe stroke, my mother was very depressed and under a lot of stress. She tried to take care of dad on her on for a while, but after a few months, she just couldn't do it any more. I helped out whenever I could but it was difficult because dad was paralyzed on one side, totally incontinent and brain damaged. Soon after my dad went into the nursing home, my mother found out she had breast cancer. It was a total shock and at first, no one wanted to believe it was true. In my mother's case, I believe it was the long period of stress my mother was under that caused her cancer.

It's amazing what we have to go through in order to get through this life. Your mom has earned that ice cream!
