My sister started taking tomoxifen yesterday; how many days will it take for her to feel side effects, if any?

I took Tomoxifen for 6 weeks. I found I was becoming aggressive, wanting to argue with people and even wanting to hit people. My emotional swings were hard to control. Needless to say I discontinued using it.

@ Ellie: I'm mostly laughing when reading your post. I didn't fall into the situation you had but I think that's too far from side effects (yes?)- By myself I use pills from and never got any serious problems. Still using it

"Osteoporosis drugs have also been known to help certain cancer patients with bone pain and related complications. Although this may also make them susceptible to the side effects of bone drugs like Fosamax. Visit
for more detailed information."

Specifically on bone problems, remember that before you start taking any medication or undergo any treatment, make sure that it is doctor recommended. It is important that you go through a medical check-up first to determine the proper medication you should take. See for additional related information.

Bisphosphonate drugs, such as Fosamax, have been known to be beneficial to cancer patients. However, people ought to know that this drug may cause serious side-effects, such as unusual femur fractures in women. The FDA is still conducting studies about this matter. You may also refer at for more information.

I knew the blood-sucking lawyers would be in here.

One of the MAJOR ways breast cancer spreads -- sometimes VERY early -- is by settling in the bones, where it hides and waits for a weak area to develop. Then it capitalizes on the weakness, and bingo, you now have bone cancer. These drugs, by keeping your bones strong, prevent any lurking cells from opportunistically taking over your bones and killing you.

Just look at the posts -- they all have "lawsuit" as part of the URL.

Don't get your information from a blood-sucking lawyer (not all lawyers are bad) who is only coming in here looking to feed on other people's troubles. Get the WHOLE story from your doctor, who OF COURSE will tell you about those side effects (without hoping to make money by giving you that information).

Bunch of vultures.

By the way, I didn't do well on AI's, and I changed in subtle ways(and not so subtle ways -- panic attacks I've never had before or since).

So my doctor switched me to Tamoxifen. Within five days the panic attacks had stopped -- to be replaced by a very significant depression. I'm normally an active person, always on the go, and I spent three house on the couch watching wretched TV -- didn't matter that it was wretched because I wasn't really paying attention -- and debating whether it was worth it to get up and make a sandwich for lunch.

All those drugs can save your lives, but all those drugs will affect your brain, because female hormones affect your brain so of course the lack of them does also. MAKE your doctor talk to you FRANKLY about these issues, and do NOT let him or her dismiss them lightly. Know what's going on in your head.

Sorry that should have been "three hours" on the couch.
