Patients needing hip replacements have an ally in Dr. Victor Antonacci , a surgeon with Rockford Orthopedic Associates who is performing a different technique that's less painful and requires a shorter recovery time.

Hip replacement surgeries have been very controversial due to the faulty hip implants that are made of metal. Some men and women would not even consider going through the surgery because of the fear of the implant failing. You can know more about it at http://www.depuypinnaclelawsuit.com/hip-repla...

People may need to be aware that in addition to the hip replacement devices failing and requiring revision surgery, there is also a risk for metal poisoning in the blood and surrounding tissues from all-metal implants. The metal parts grind against each other, causing toxic metal shavings to become dispersed in the body. You may find helpful information at http://www.depuyhipreplacementlawsuit.com .

I am afraid that in addition to the surgical procedure itself, hip implants used in the operation may also add to a patient's risk of developing complications. I also read at pages like http://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/13/02/p... saying that hip devices may soon fail or come loose while inside a patient's body.

This method of surgery has been gaining wide acceptance and this is very welcome to the thousands of patients that may requrie hip surgeries. This is indeed a good development. However, these are overshadowed by the massive failure rates of metal implants which have injured thousand already. This new method of surgery may be rendered useless if recipients will still be subjected to the deadly complications of metal implants as what is happening to recipients implanted with the DePuy ASR hip systems. More information about this is available in DePuy ASR hip lawsuit information center.

This is good news. However, new technologies/developments are really welcome especially in hip replacement, as you may know the rate of hip implants failing is high leading to hip revision surgeries and other complications as well. If you want to know more about bone health and related injuries, there are articles that I bumped into at http://hiprecallupdates.webs.com/ that may be of great help to you.
