I was told if I did that you can make it resistant to meds and may requirea stronger med if its not eradicated. Just some advice. God bless

I didn't have symptoms other than a sore throat...had blood work done and was told I had H.Pylori, started the combo pac of the prevacid/biaxin/ 2 amoxicillan...stomach pain is unreal, but subsiding on this 4th day of treatment, the dry/metal taste in my mouth is awful, but at least I know it will end! Since I had no symptoms I'm thinking the h.pylori can't be as bad as the pains I'm experiencing in my stomach from these damn pills...it's the biaxin, have had that before for sinus infections and very hard on your stomach..I am only on the 7 day combo pack...Will be glad when Saturday is over so these pills are GONE!

Guys, I saw a huge choice of antibiotics at http://north-american-discounted.com/products... I bought some generics there and I can say that quality is OK. Really good.

Not taking probiotics would not have saved me from the wrath of mastic gum. As I said before I was in SEVERE pain from it. It was a pain like I have never felt in my life before. So even with probiotic it was still going to have the same outcome. I recently came across a video on you tube where the side effects of mastic gum are listed and severe stomach pain is among them. If you think about it mastic gum is used as an adhesive in surgical threads, it is used in mirrors, paints, varnishes etc, so considering that does that really sound like something people should be consuming? It is toxic and potent and should not be used for consumption period.
you are full of shit mate. Mastic is also used to produce chewing gums. So you're saying chewing gums are toxic?! Maybe you bought some cheap crap online and thats why it happens to you.

I was just diagnosed with H. Pylori, but am hesitant to start triple therapy. I haven't seen one person say it worked for them. Is is successful? And how do you feel 3-6-9 months afterward?

I have h pylori... I first before taking antibiotics I have taken mastic gum Jarrow. I finnished my first bottle and have no success. 1 month later Still have acid reflux, feel really sick all the time, I have taken probiotics and glucosamine along.... I really can say those 2 things work. I have not yet begin treat meant because I wanted to try those things before taking antibiotics to see the real effect first. Mastic gum kills all bacteria good and bad.... this mastic gum is something I can't say if its okay to use. I would not take more than a bottle to be on the safe side. I'm gonna take the antibiotics and lay off mastic gum and begin using probiotics more often. When I felt sick and weak taking 4 probiotics really made me feel normal again. But it wears off after 4 hours and I feel like crap again. Mastic gum is not a for sure thing long term does have serious health effects... it can mess up allot of things. I would use 1 bottle and run away from using it after that

The reason why mastic gum is bad is because it has anti bacteria anti fungi property's.... like antibiotics it disturbs your gut flora network.

It kills all life . Now to kill the bacteria is a must but to be taking for periods of tie is dangerous like antibiotics or antibacteria

Metronidazole has been used for the treatment of infections for >45 years and is still successfully used for the treatment of trichomoniasis, amoebiasis, and giardiasis.

This is my second round with H pylori, first time was 3 yrs ago, tested it cleared me. I have little bits and pieces of heartburn but non like I have for last 3 weeks. tested positive again for it. This time meds are tearing me up inside. Doesn't do any good to eat because nothing stops the feeling of the need to throw up or running to bathroom. I'm a receptionist. very hard to wrk when you can't stay at your desk. Is there a shot they can give. I can't swallow very much it has to be liquids that is how bad it has gotten. Soups, are about all I can stomach, when I can take that. I'm a diabetic, I can't go without food. Thinking hospital is best place for me. I have an ICD, I can't let myself get too weak.

What the mastic gum did is that it glued itself to my stomach which was thinned out from the infection and it ripped away what was remaining of my parietal cells. Before that I was always hungry, had a normal appetite, food was digesting as fast as 1 hour to one and a half hour and I was always bloated and there was burning under my ribcage and in my arms and breasts at times when I stayed too long to eat or if something I ate irritated the stomach. The mastic gum destroyed all my chances of recovering my stomach. Anti-biotics would NOT have done that to me. They have always been mild on me, never had a bad reaction to them yet. Looking back I think I exercised very poor judgment in taking the mastic gum. The Internet is filled with all types of products and there are many fake reviews and reviewers out there to make the product look good and safe for everyone, but the truth is we DO NOT know much about these herbal products. It is COMMON SENSE not to buy pills online and if we do we are taking a HUGE gamble with oour lives. I remember that when I was researching mastic gum, I came across a few persons who said it made their condition worse and gave them constipation and I told myself that will not happen to me. The truth is you never know what will happen to you. At least with pharmaceuticals the side effects are generally documented and well known so people can make informed decisions and they are usually prescribed by a doctor. So people do not attempt to treat yourself without your doctors approval. Always talk to your doctor and follow his/her orders. My life would be different and happy had I gone back to my doctor for anti-biotics. She would have just prescribed stronger ones and larger doses, but I did not know that at the time. Now that all the danger has been done I have better and more solid information as to how to treat h pylori successfully.
KassyS ... What BRAND of mastic gum did you use and what dosage. I've seen it as low as 56mg, which is what I'm using in a Solaray compound called "Stomach," and as high as 1000mg per capsule, which seems incredibly high. There's also the possibility that what you took was far too much and not of good purity. Knowing the brand and dose you used will help others make a better informed choice. Thank you. And I'm so sorry about your experience.
