Tax the pharmaceutical drugs prescriped by the mental health industry that has no science. No medical model. No evidence based medicine and no test for chemical imbalance to which the industry lied.

The taxing of the mental health industry and the voodoo, Crystal ball gazing, Tarot card readings for a diagnoses would save America lives and the insurance Industries and government considerable monies and save lives.

Huh? I quit smoking by switching to using a personal vaporizer. Why shouldn't I be able to post in this "normal" forum? It seems my experience is probably relevant. Have you ever vaped? Have you even sought any unbiased information about e-cigs or do you just find it reprehensible when someone points out hypocrisy or challenges a disdain for liberty and freedoms?

In a thread that's only 20 posts long, you started with telling vapers to quit smoking and have contributed nothing else but insults, calling other posters wussies, anal, trolls and "sucking off trolls," creep, plagiarizer, moron and bigot - and you accuse ME of spreading hate?

It's true that I am bigoted against certain things and that I might be described by people who engage in such as a hater... have you been stalking? It wouldn't come as a surprise.

Taxing big pharma won't work - all that would do is pass on the cost to the consumer and rally the Tea Party. In the case of e-cigs the best solution is to tell them to shut up and sit down - this doesn't concern them.
It's often said that psychiatry is not an exact science and I wouldn't presume to know enough about it to offer much. There are plenty of people walking around (I know one with anger issues, but I'll save that for the abnormal forums) who might actually benefit from a shrink's voodoo.
As far as medical testing, until there is tort reform, doctors have to order a gazillion tests just to cover their butts (and those of the malpractice insurers) even if the diagnosis is obvious.
It's all about the money.

The article, which you probably didn't even read, said that the ecig hasn't been approved by the FDA; that their official stance is that they don't know how safe it is to use because there has not been sufficient studies done on the product. You would rather use and defend a product that may be dangerous than show a little backbone and just quit smoking. You are the moron who tried to turn my contempt for weak-willed addicts into a religious debate. You have a one-track mind it seems, typical of addicts who make excuses for their behavior, red herring and all that it entails.

Ah smokers.

The last legitimate target for narrow minded bigots. Can't be racist or sexist any more, can't make fun of the spastic dude in the wheel chair. We all know how incredibly frustrated you are that gays are not fair game these days.

Smokers will do. And occasionally you will get away with a fat joke.

Your assumption: its only backbone that prevents smokers from quitting. How sanctimonious of you.

Smoking is a pleasure for smokers whether you like it or not. And whether totally harmless or merely far less harmful than smoking tobacco, e-cigs are a legitimate choice.

Remember that word? Choice.

Freedom is something Americans used to have but now merely rant about while they bankrupt themselves playing "liberator" with death dealing drones.

I'd read the article and I found it shamelessly prejudicial and fraught with errors. The article fails to mention that the backlash against e-cigarettes is based on two things. The appearance of smoking and the concern for minors to engage in it. As it stands, e-cigarettes are neither marketed towrd nor sold to minors.
Addressing the aspect of health concerns, chemically nicotine is on par with caffeine in its affects on the body. The primary ingredients of vaporizers - propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin have been used in pharmaceutical and food products for decades. Chemically, they are nearly inert to the human body. The additional flavorings used in the liquids are food grade and even the tobacco derived flavors contain only faint traces of certain chemicals found in tobacco. The FDA HAS performed one feeble study that used a trifling sample size and far overstressed trace chemicals found in a couple Chinese manufactured liquids. That FDA "study" has been devastated by peer reviews. It is the ATF, not the FDA which regulates tobacco products. The article does not mention that Paul Ray's major campaign contributors are big pharma. Ray is completely incorrect that e-cigarettes are marketed as a "nicotine replacement therapy" or that "This is terrible stuff. They're peddling stuff that they know absolutely will kill people," "This is an industry who kills their clientele." The e-cigarette "industry" is not the tobacco industry.
Essentially, Ray is lying for his keepers - who are NOT the residents of Utah, and McCombs is betraying the trust of his readers by presenting a report which is poorly researched, clearly biased and peppered with inaccuracies.

And you are the one who accepts a single article as gospel without personally investigating the statements and allegations made in that article.
If I enjoy vaping - with or without nicotine, since it is an OPTIONAL ingredient, what concern is it of yours? Do I demand that you stop eating chocolate because it contains phenylethylamine, theobromine, anandamide, tryptophan, N-oleoythanolamine and N-linoleoylethanolamine? Should you be reported to the DEA because you are ingesting mood altering substances in your Hershey bar?
Do you hear me going off on people who go to amusement parks, buy lottery tickets or cheer on a football team because they are self-triggering a dopamine release or condemn marathon runners for neuro-endorphine surges? There is no doubt that hydrocarbon emissions are harmful. Shall we ban recreational and unauthorized use of motorized vehicles? Oh, and I almost forgot. Does it make you feel good to be addicted to name calling, Nano?

Well, I like my new vaporizer.

And you know what? Let them tax it. If they could DOUBLE the cost of the refill liquid, it'd STILL BE CHEAPER than smoking tobacco.

Even if they managed to make it cost AS MUCH as analog cigarettes, it's still the better CHOICE.
So let 'em tax it!
