I keep hearing on other forums that if Canada and Cuba can do it, then so can we. Canadian citizens hate their system and the Cubans do not know anything else because they live in a communistic state. But answer this question for me Mr Oregon.

If Cuba's health care system is so great, then why does Castro fly to Spain to get his surgeries done?

ESTIMATES.
POTENTIAL.
This makes it nothing more than rhetoric.
Overhead is not waste. Facilitators of goods and services earn their keep. They prevent such abominations as 60 billion tax dollars being defrauded every year!
Real dollars. Pay attention!

Overhead IS waste when others in the same space can do it for 1/10th the cost.

If you care so much about fraud (Medicare fraud is from PROVIDERS) then you should love single payer. One system, one set of diagnostic codes, one phone number, one set of books.

Go yell at the for-profit, over prescribing docs in McAllen. With single payer this kind of thing is easy to see.

Yes. What's the name of that woman in Canadian Govt that was touting their socialist healthcare system but then it came out she went to L.A. to get treatment for breast cancer???

My friend's wife and kids are from Britain. One of the kids was waiting for some kind of eye surgery for years. They came here to live and within months he had his operation.

There are endless and countless stories about the failings of socialist healthcare.

Both Britain and Australia are experimenting with free market healthcare, i.e., backing AWAY from the socialist model.

I don't know where Disgusting Oregon gets his "facts" but I've always understood that Medicare and Medicaid were roughly 3x more costly than private healthcare options.

Oh and Disgusting, did you flip past all those exposes on TV about the HORRIFIC conditions in VA hospitals?

Another thing to think about, and this goes beyond just the healthcare issue but Obama admin "style" in general: WHY do they need to rush rush rush this sh!t through? WHY? Answer is trivially simple: Their idealistic policies CANNOT withstand scrutiny!

People are waking up though and I'm loving it.

Sometimes it takes adversity to being out the best in people. Obama is providing that adversity, in a rushed fashion

Obviously, they can't do it for 1/10 of the cost. If they could, they would prevent the $60 billion fraud per year with their "adequate and efficient" admin! That's $1333 per Medicare patient! Real dollars! Pay attention!

First it was "15%-50%. Now it's exactly 31%. You have no credibility.
The 15-50% range you unutterably ridiculous person is for individual health insurance companies. The 31% is for the system overall.

Can you understand the words that I am posting to you?

I didn't think so. Go back to school. Get an education.

I'd love to see the actual supporting data. Without it, your claims are "unutterably, ridiculously" meaningless.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Aries

There are mixed messages flying around in the ether today, so be wary about drawing any concrete conclusions from what happens now. Even though you don't realize it, you may be misreading the signs that someone is sending out, which will lead to complications later on. Be especially careful about indulging in romantic daydreams and then believing them.
