I feel like I have been to every dermatology in Phoenix AZ ( http://www.arizonaderm.com/ ) and no one can clear my acne all the way. I'm willing to try anything.

1. Wash your face twice daily. The first step to getting clear skin is to set up a regimented cleansing routine. Buckle down and force yourself to wash your face when you wake up in the morning and before going to bed at night..

Wash your face for at least one minute straight. It takes at least this long for all the pimple-causing bacteria to be killed.

2.Use a spot treatment. Spot treatments are specialized products that you apply only to your acne spots rather than over the entirety of your face. Buy a spot treatment from your local drugstore or create your own using products you likely already have in your home.
Make a paste of baking soda and water and dab it onto your pimples. Do this nightly before bed and rinse off in the morning to clean out bacteria and scrub away dead skin.
Aspirin tablets that are ground up can be mixed with water and then put on your zits to reduce redness and swelling.
In a pinch, try using a dab of whitening toothpaste to dry out your pimple and reduce redness.

3.Use a face mask.. Face masks contain compounds that soothe your skin and kill bacteria. Using a face mask 2-3 times a week for 15-20 minutes to dry out your skin and clean out your pores. Buy face masks from your local beauty supply or drugstore, or make your own at home.

Use a “mask” of olive oil rubbed on your face. Give your skin a copious coating and allow it to set for 15 minutes. Then rinse off with warm water, making sure to remove all traces of the oil.
Create a blend of cucumbers and oatmeal. The cucumbers help to reduce redness and fight off dark spots while the oatmeal soften and soothes irritated skin. Blend the two together in a food processor until it forms a paste, and then apply it to your skin for 15-20 minutes before washing off with warm water.
Rub a light layer of honey into your skin, and let it sit for 30 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.
Try using egg whites to clean out and close up large pores. Separate the yolks out of one or two eggs, beat the whites a bit, and apply to your face. You should feel your pores tighten up as it dries; let it set until completely dry. Rinse off the egg whites with warm water.
9Apply essential oils to active pimples. Some essential oils are thought to have antimicrobial properties, that can kill acne-causing bacteria. Dab a drop on each spot, or wet a cotton swab and wipe it over problem areas. Some popular options include lavender, rosemary, thyme, and sandalwood.

4.Exfoliate your face. Exfoliants are mild scrubbing products that work to slough off dead skin cells that build up and cause acne. Buy a mild exfoliant at your local drugstore or make your own at home using household ingredients.
Make a paste of baking soda and water (similar to the spot treatment) and gently rub it in a circular motion around your face. This will kill bacteria and remove dead skin cells simultaneously.
If you have sensitive skin, consider using oatmeal as an exfoliant. Mix oatmeal with honey and rub it onto your face for 2-3 minutes, and gently rinse away the residue with warm water.
For very dry skin, use coffee grounds mixed with your regular facial cleanser. Using coarser grounds will give a more abrasive exfoliant, while a fine grind will be more gentle for sensitive skin.

5.Try tea tree oil. Tea tree oil is an antibacterial agent that can help clear out the microbes clogging your skin. Apply the oil to a cotton swab, and gently touch the swab to any pimples. Avoid using too much tea tree oil — it'll burn your skin, and just make the redness worse.[5]

6.Always apply a moisturizer. Oily skin produces acne, and if your skin is very dry your body will compensate by creating extra oils. To prevent this from happening, use a gentle moisturizer after you wash your face every morning and evening. Apply moisturizer post toner application.

Use baking soda. Mix equal parts baking soda and water to form a paste. Apply the paste onto acne individually, not over the entire face. Dip a Q-Tip into the baking soda mixture and apply that way.

Leave the baking soda paste on your face for about 10 minutes, or until dry.
Wash off with very cold water. It will help close the pores significantly.
Repeat at most two times a day. If your skin becomes irritated or excessively oily due to use, make sure to discontinue treatment.

Try using lemon juice as an acne remedy. Cut a lemon in half and gently rub the open-side of the lemon onto the acne. The stinging feeling means it's working. Lemons contain citric acid, which attacks the bacteria that cause acne.

Make sure to wipe/wash the lemon juice off, and use sunscreen afterwards. Citric acid can bleach the skin and puts it at significantly higher likelihood of sun damage.

Slice a raw potato and apply to skin. Slice a raw potato in half and apply onto acne. Raw potato can heal as well as act an anti-inflammatory. Again, wash the residue off your skin gently with water after using.

Brown Sugar Scrub This is my personal favorite and what turned me onto using natural things rather than buying acne products. In the shower, once your skin is damp (and your pores have been opened up by the heat), scrub the acne problem areas with brown sugar. This will clean out dirt, dead skin cells and oil clogging your pores and soften your skin as well. The next day, you will see a noticeable change in your acne and your skin will be silky smooth. If you really want to get the most out of this scrub, apply a toner after you get out of the shower to truly clean out everything in your pores. Use this scrub only 2-3 times per month though, because it dramatically opens and cleans your pores. If you overuse it, your body may begin to overproduce oil and your acne could get worse.

As a 15yr. old girl (this was 16yrs. ago) I started Accutane from http://goo.gl/NeYo6G . After the initial 30 days of my acne getting worse I started to notice that day by day the acne lessened and the pores on my face became smaller and I didn't have to constantly blot the oil off my face. I had some dryness but it was a small sacrifice to look in the mirror and not see these big ugly zits causing me to feel ugly and self conscious. I also started to look people in the eyes and not constantly worry that they were staring at the state of my skin, or to go outside in the bright light and have people thinking negative things about me. After 3 mos. my skin was beautiful, without a single blemish, and the pores shrunk back to normal. Although I had the dryness that everyone experiences, it was SO WORTH IT. People talk about depression as a side effect, but honestly I was so deliriously happy with the results that I can say I was never depressed for even one day. After 1 yr. of being off the drug I started to get a few pimples and went back to the dermatologist. She started me on a second course immediately. That was 17yrs. ago. My skin has been perfect and flawless ever since. I never get a breakout. I shudder to think how my life would have been if it wasn't for this wonder drug. I would recommend it in a heartbeat. It changed my life.
