Judged: 1 I had been a directv customer since Dec., 2002. But in June-July of 2006 I saw a Directv High Definition Satellite System on Ebay so I bid on it and won. And I disconnected my old Directv satellite system and connected the newer HD satellite system. I then called Directv and informed that I was a current customer and had them activate the HD satellite receiver that I had just bought...Presto I then had HD programming. But in Jan-Febuary of 2007 my hd satellite receiver was malfunctioning so Directv sent me a replacement receiver when I hooked up the new replacement receiver I soon found that that receiver was defective. So instead of having them send me yet another receiver I decided to cancel my directv service and they sent me the boxes to send back the receivers. And then later on Directv informed me that I was being charged $277 for braching the contract. Funny thing is when I had activated the high definition programming back in July 2006, the directv representative never even mentioned that I was entering into a two year committment. As a matter of fact I a two year contract was never even mentioned in that phone call. So for the last year and five months I have been getting calls from collection agency after collection agency demanding that I pay the money for breaching a contract that I was never even made aware of when I singed up for Directv's High definition programming. And the latest insult was getting a phone call from a law firm demanding that I pay Directv the money that they think that I owe them. Now I have to have a friend of mine who is a lawyer send a letter to that law firm to dispute the BOGUS Directv charges. No my adice to anyone who is thinking about getting directv is not to buy from Directv. Or if you still want to get Directv please be advised that they will enter you into a two year committment and they won't always inform you that you are entering into a two year contract as was my case. |

my name is Earl Evans I've been a loyal directv customer for over 4 years now, i went to directv's mover connection to go from chicago IL to urbana IL (central IL).On 8-1-08 an installer from Bluegrass came out in the afternoon, he left an hour later, a few days later i noticed i had no local channels not Fox CBS, ABC, Ect.I called directv's (Get the customer off the phone quickly service) and was told i lived in a 2 dish zone, they scheduled another appointment for me.On 8-17-08 another installer showed up once he realized i needed another dish he informed me he didn't have the right equipment, i politely asked him to leave. After that i called bluegrass dispatch located in bloomington IL and the lady was apologetic she stated she would send another installer 8-18-08 prior to 10 am, 10:30 i called bluegrass after not hearing from them ,jennifer from bluegrass said she couldn't reach installer that was suppose to come.I asked her (jennifer)to call directv and let them know if they don't want to do rest of work, she stated ok i will.I then called directv and got a supervisor she called jennifer to find out why she made a comment like that, jennifer denied until she realized i was on 3 way call, then stated she thought thats what i wanted.A supervisor from Bluegrass (Randy) said he will sent an installer out that evening (8-18-08) all i had to do is call him when i finished up work.At 4:15;pm i called randy and informed him i was leaving work, he told me he forgot so, i called directv got no help they told me to install and purchase satellite myself.I called Bluegrass again to ask for info address legal name to file a complaint with BBB (Amber) told me we don't care nothing ever happens anyway. The only reason why i put up with this is because i get the NFL ticket and they are the only tv place we can get it maybe the NFL should reconsider renewing their contract to get rid of the customer service monster that was created, totally unacceptable service.

Judged: 1 1 1 Completely Unprofessional installs, Horrendous customer service when it came to theft. In fact after I reported the issues and theft they called me 2 months later to ask how the Install went, obviously they didn't take any note of the theft if they actually had the nerve to call me after all was said and done. Want more details about my experience, email me at jamesjohnson2@hotmail.com |

I will mail it in the morning. I don't think anyone should be treated this way they have to have there money up front and on time. But when they owe someone it is a different story. No one should do business with these
people. |

Beavis and "Butt head" showed up about 3 hours late to install my DirectTV (HD). After walking around the home a few times, they decided that place for the dish was on my deck, but not only on my deck, but mounted for all to see. Then they told me that I would have to cut some trees down in order to get the signal (30 degrees). Then they just looked at me and said, "we can let you borrow are chainsaw so you can take them down." Now these are 100-130' Carolina pines Trees and you just don't cut them down. I told them NO, and ask them to find another location. The wandered around for a while and pointed to a place in my yard, but said they don't do installs that involved underground wiring and putting in a pole. I thanked them for their time and ask them to leave. I call DirectTV and canceled.
Where do they find these morons to install satellite TV's? |

DirectTV is a disaster... they did a hack job if installing a system at our rental place, when the service failed a month later they returned to say they could only fix it by drilling which we told them explicitly we couldn't do. They've waived the cahrges but won't take their dish back and insist we send it to a landfill instead of reusing it... these guys are sheisters and eco-terrorists.

I am new to Directv. After the professional came out and did the worst installation job I had ever seen, I called and said I was contemplating whether to pile it all up and have them come take it all away. Well, if I had done exactly that, that day, I think I might I have been able to get out of it. At this point, they tell me I will have to pay the early termination fee of around $400. Keep in mind I've had the service for about 12 days and have complained every one of them. I'M TRAPPED.

Have been a customer for 8 years. Lost my satellite signal yesterday. Phoned Directv and was told it would be SEVEN DAYS before a technician would come and fix the issue. SEVEN DAYS WITHOUT SERVICE.
For those individuals thinking of satellite, DO NOT GET DIRECTV. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

Judged: 3 1 1 Sorry, but that's bs. First off, directv raises their prices yearly(like every other service does), not monthly. I have had their service for 12 years, and I have never seen " monthly increases". Second, if you had bothered to read your agreement, you would see that you actually agreed to pay by credit\debit when cancelling, per directv customer agreement... "(e) Payment Upon Cancellation. You acknowledge that you have provided your credit or debit card account information to us. You understand that you will incur fees and charges as a result of your receipt and use of Service and/or Receiving Equipment, and may incur early cancellation fees and/or equipment non-return fees (as specified in any lease, programming or other service commitment agreement you entered into in connection with obtaining Receiving Equipment). By giving us your credit or debit card account information, you authorize us to apply this method of payment, in accordance with applicable law, to satisfy any and all amounts due upon cancellation. You further acknowledge that you are required to maintain current credit or debit card information with us and agree to notify us whenever there is a change in such information, such as a change in the card number or the expiration date". A credit or debit card has been required to establish service, at least since I signed up 12 years ago. The fact that you didn't take the time to read the agreement, is nobodys fault but your own. And no, I don't work for directv....I just read agreements before I sign up for anything... |

Judged: 3 So I have a problem with DirecTV. I pretty much hate them. They have the worst customer service ever! So I canceled my service with them in January. They didn't send me a final bill for 4 months then next thing I know I get a call from a collections agency telling me I owe them $169. So I just paid it on the spot, cuz I don't want my credit score to suffer cuz of those idiots. The reason I canceled is because I was moving to Canada for an indefinite period of time,(it's June and I am back now, however, I had all the rights to cancel because I had a letter from my employer that I had to move to Canada for about a year, which I sent to all my utility companies) Anyway, so I wrote a complaint letter along with the employer letter to the Billing Dispute...I get a call from them a month later, saying if you return the equipment the money will be refunded. Turns out the money was for early termination fee and not for equipment. What a mess! I hate them! To make the long story short, you basically have to DIE in order for them to reverse the early cancellation fee ($125). It's not the money at this point. It's the principle. Any advice on what I should do next? I really want to take this as far as I can but not sure if it's worth the time...and time is money :-/ please advise... thanks! DTV hater |
