Yes you can. The more important question though is, "Why would you need to?"

Pepcid is an H2(histamine)blocker and Prilosc is a PPI (proton pump inhibitor.)

Usually you take one or the other. You may start out with both because it can sometimes take a PPI a couple of days to become effective but you then drop the H2 drug. If you still need both for relief, you need to see your MD because you may need a stronger PPI or you may have a more serious medical condition.

My doctor prescribed a PPI (omeprazole 20mg) for 8 weeks to aid in the healing of a ruptured peptic ulcer. I was instructed to take it twice a day, 30 mins before meals. He also suggested I take an OTC H2 blocker (Pepcid AC) with a glass of water before I go to bed at night to help with the nausea that was waking me up in the middle of the night. I haven't had the slightest issue with the exception of some pretty epic gas. Luckily it's the humorous kind of gas and not the painful kind :)

Hope this helps!

Been taking Omeprazole for 2 years, daily. Added Famotidine (Pepcid Complete) about 3 months ago and soon thereafter started experiencing pain in my abdomen region. Also occasional soreness in ribcage area or below ribcage. Was also having discomfort in groin so i assumed the pain was associated with that. Bloodwork showed elevated Thyroid levels but inconclusive. It occurred to me there could be an interaction between the two antacids so i discontinued the Pepcid and almost immediately the abdominal pain ceased.
Hope this helps someone.

i kind of confused about the different types of ulcer treatment drugs that on the market. The labels say they are different countries with different mgs. one does not know whether american, indian or chanese drugs effective. somebody should come out clearly and tell the truth. are you making money at the expense of the sufferers?
