Great. Now all the other wing nuts will be refusing to vaccinate their kids. People need to better educate themselves about the true causes of autism. There is no one cause. It is a combination of several different factors.

They can choose to not vaccinate their kids if they want, but do us all a favor and home school the little petri dishes so they don't pass on disease to other kids in overcrowded schools.

Are you telling me that Vaccines are useless?

If you are vaccinated and your classmate is not, shouldn't the insivable vaccine shield protect you. Hey after all you are now disease proof.

One would think that it was the unvaccinated child that is at risk.

I just realised...they are; potentially at risk from the newly vaccinated child from what the CDC call Vaccine Shedding.

i think some of those vaccines do cause autism ( look what goes into that shiite...there is crazy stuff in vaccines..) and some children are born with autism ( or what doctors diagnose as autism.) I am no expert, just my uneducated opinion.

This maybe the biggest hoax of the 20th century. They actually have a fund to pay folks hurt by shots! That doesn't raise a red flag for you? Also they paid before the evidence could be exposed. The goverment just doesn't give out funds without a really good cause. Children with Autism is on the rise and I suggest checking the rate with the introduction of new vaccines and the way they are preserved and delivered. Our family has been dealing with this issue for some time, my neice has Autism and let me tell you it is NOT an easy thing to deal with. At the very least the vaccines should be independently studied to absolutely rule it out! I'll hold my breath...

So then why is it that all children who get these shots do NOT have autism? My opinion, I believe it is caused by DNA/chromosomal changes within the genetic makeup of each individual, not necessarily the shot itself. I feel it may be a way to place blame somewhere just blame the medical field.

I agree with that statement "okay" but it still does not rule out the rise in numbers. If DNA is an issue with some and if the shots are a trigger for that problem isn't it still a viable question? By the way we are not involved in any lawsuit and are not trying to place blame on anyone. We would rather not to have to deal with this at all.

People,

Read the story. They were injecting kids with vaccines made from a mercury-based preservative. We all know, or should, that mercury is dangerous and causes permanent, irreversible brain damage. Could it be the mercury and not the vaccine? And if it is the mercury, what does that hold for us as the government is mandating CFL light bulbs with 5 mg of mercury in each of them? Could all that mercury be causing our problems?

Trudge may have found the common issue. This forum can be worth something if people would just let it. By ourselves we dont know everything.

I don't think I found the common cause, but I bet you the government KNOWS there is a problem with mercury in a lot of things. Answer this one for yourselves. Why would the government allow the introduction of mercury into our homes via CFL's, and at the same time wage a war against the mercury produced by coal burning electric plants? Does that make any sense at all? If mercury is so poisonous, and it is, why not do a better job of restricting its use everywhere?

Since you seem to know, what are the real causes? I thought it was unknown at this point.

If you wre the grandmother of a beautiful boy who was fine and after vaccines he is not, you will be saying something else. It has been said for years that thimerosal and mercury are poison to some babies, then now that we know this, lets ask for thimerosal and mercury free vaccines even if we have to pay more. But the doctor does not give the parents the option. Parents and grandparents need to do their own research. I only have one grandson and he was fine and was poisoned with vaccines with thimerosal and mercury. Some people may not care because they have healthy children who were affected by this, but we were not that lucky and it did affect my grandson. NO MORE VACCINES WITH THE THIMEROSAL MERCURY POISON FOR ANY OF MY FUTURE GRANDCHILDREN.

Well, I am no expert, but I think, as was stated in the article, that there are underlying causes for Autisim, that apparently these vaccines trigger.
We are very fortunate that neither of our boys have Autisim. However, with our two year old, we have decided to decline all vaccinations since he was 12 months old. Once he received the Chicken Pox vaccine, and came down with a case of them, I became leary. He already has a very delicate immune system, and I am just plain scared to take that chance. What if these vaccines do cause this terrible disease?? I would rather err on the side of caution, that go with the crowd, and be left with a child that is no longer "there".
And for the record..735stacey... I will keep my little "petri dish" @ home... it's the best place to learn anyway.
Prayers and my sympathy are with those children, and their parents that are battling this disease.

I think that the odds of your child developing Autism from a vaccine is sufficiently low that it would be stupid to decline them. Vaccine's have done a world of good. We have virtually eliminated so many diseases because of them. With the small pox vaccine, there was a chance that you could get it rather than become immune to it, but people took the vaccine, because without it, your chances of getting it were much much more. Risk is inherent in virtually everything you do, are you going to stop letting your children ride in the car with you because the chances of having a fatal accident are phenomenally higher than your child getting autism from a vaccine. You have to weigh the risks against the benefits, and the benefits to vaccination far exceed the risk.

Of course, the lady who has a child with a weak immune system probably has good reason to avoid vaccinations on THAT child.

I think that Dr.'s need to develop a test to determine those who are at greater risk, so that their parents can KNOW beforehand. I think that the pharmaceutical cos. should develop vaccines that do not employ materials that have such risks inherent in their make up.

Congratulations to her and her family!

My son was given 7 and within 3 days he became autistic. Even our doctor is shocked. He walked into the office a fine little boy, and in less than a week, lost all speech, ability to walk, and various other things.

I feel bad for anyone who still believes vaccines are safe.

I think vaccines trigger autism in some babies and the numbers of shots given and the lapse between shots can have an effect. The US gives more vaccines to children in its gov. required vaccination program than any other counry and the rate of autism is the highest of any country. There is a direct corelation between the two.The main study they fall back on to show vaccines are safe is a Denmark study paid for by tax money and pharmaceutical money .The Denmark study is a co CDC and pharmaceutical study and has been found on shakey scientific grounds. The head of the study is under fraud indictment and his methods under question.I will say it plain ,he is a charlatin working with the CDC and for pharmaceutical companies.
