TEACHERS ARE TOO QUICK TO GIVE THIS "DIAGNOSIS" TO ANY CHILD WHO DOESN'T SIT STILL!!!!! IN MY SON'S CASE HIS 1ST GRade teacher said he can't keep his feet quiet!!!! she always sent home assesments she did on him, she would write (based on her score) these are traits of ADHD! i felt she was diagnosing my child, therefore labeling him! completely out of her scope!

It's much easier to drug them than to deal with them in a classroom setting. It's absolutely ridiculous! Maybe more outdoor activity would help some of these kids out, but now you hear about schools getting rid of their gym classes and sports activities.
Turn off the t.v's and go outside and ride a bike and exercise!

Actually, ADHD is not diagnosed by teachers. It is a medical diagnosis. Try taking responsibility for raising your children properly instead of blaming everything on teachers. If children had proper parenting, nutrition, and exercise many kids that have difficulty sustaining attention at school would have much more success.

I know quite a few parents who would rather slap labels on their kids, instead of just slapping their kids. They'll blame every outburst, every bad word, every poor report card, every bad attitude, every social difficulty, every problem with the teachers, yadda, yadda, yadda, on their child's "disabilities". While their kids are allowed to live like tyrants, the rest of us just have to learn to be "tolerant".
I'm so SICK of hearing about their "disablities".
No, I'm not insensitive. I know there are some -- SOME -- who actually fit the description and deserve the help. Most of the time, I think it's a parental cop-out.
My spouse and I have children, and while each of them are successful and display many abilities, I can also say that they each have their own "disabilities" as well.
We ALL do.
We just choose not to focus on what we CAN'T do -- instead, we take what we CAN do and run with it!
It's not a disability, but a discipline problem.
And it doesn't take pills -- it takes parents.
