This is encouraging news especially to kidney disease patients who may have been waiting for a kidney transplant for many years. If proven successful in human models, this may pave the way for another treatment option to many patients who need donor kidneys. While they may still be treated through dialysis, I read some posts at http://www.dialysisinjuryhelpline.com/ and found out that some medications used in dialysis treatment have also been linked to cardiac arrest in some patients.
