Hey, Nick:

I am 42, and finally noticed some creeping recession at my hairline about 3-years ago. My case may be different from yours; but I discovered "saw palmetto." If you buy it at Walmart, it is pretty cheap, actually (about $8 for a bottle of 100, 160mg softgels caps; as compared to getting 60 of the same for almost $20 on some supplement sites on the web).
I noticed even more improvement when, in addition, I started taking the 450mg capsules with the powdered, dry saw palmetto in them.
Right now I take 2-gel caps (160mg) and one dry capsule (450mg) per day.
I hope that this is helpful. I can't believe that you are noticing this at age 17. That is so young.

What side effects did you experience if any? I have read sexual side effects and testicular pain? I am beginning to wonder if these anti baldness meds are worth having decreased sexual drive....whats the point in hair if we can't have sex?

Two options:
1) apples and bananas(Saw Palmetto)
2) profinast(Saw Palmetto extract; herbal finasteride)

I ahve taken Nu Hair DHT Blocker and it has stopped my hair from falling out as seen in the shower drain. Also, it has starter to regrow the hair around by back bald spot by about a quarter of inch in circumverence. The hiar is stronger and thicker too. This works for me, I kid you not, but it took 3 months to see real results! I recommend it.

I've been taking Provillus for nearly two months now and have had pain in my right testical with it rising, not dropped as usual like the other one. Havn't had any problems with decreased sex drive though

PROVILLUS AND PROFINAST ARE JUST SAW PALMETTO. They are a scam. Go to Walmart and just buy an $8.00 bottle and try it, don't spend hundreds on this SPAM crap.

I feel like the herbal treatments are the best. Saw palmetto definitely helps and I've gotten some great info from http://baldness1.blogspot.com on hair loss that I'm applying.

Hey there. Baldness is found to be caused by the conversion of testosterone into something called dht which inhibits vitamins from getting to your hair, thus causing them to thin and fall out. Like most guys i panicked abit when i saw my hairline was receeding. I did abit of research and found a combination of saw palmetto and vitamin B6 would be good for preventing further hair loss and regrowing hair. My hair seems thicker and new hairs have grown.Im now looking for a supplement known as pygium which again helps with hair regrowth.

Propecia & Dutasteride are the strongest DHT inhibitors.
