Does that include Maine Lobsters?
If so, that's great because it'll cause the price of live Lobsters to fall due to less demand.
Jeepers, hopefully the price only falls on the consumer end. If the price falls on the lobstermen's end, they'll be giving them away. You wouldn't believe how badly they're getting raked...almost as badly as dairy farmers.

If this was all about getting the same federal and state rights as a marriage does, But under a civil union. Why not?

Cant you read or are you just too dumb to understand the concept that I am trying to get at. If civil unions offered the same RIGHTS and Protections as Marriage. Would you accept it?

Personally, I think that those who attempt to keep loving and committed consenting adults from having a meaningful relationship with equal protection under the law are the ones making a mockery of marriage.
And I think that those who attempt to keep americans from voting and having their voices be heard are unamericans just like you and the rest of the gay community.

I'm smart enough to understand that civil marriage doesn't require any religious belief in any state in the U.S. It doesn't require the raising of children, and in several states, it does not require that the parties be of opposite gender. What is it that you do not understand about this?

REALITY CHECK: Whatever it is "the people" say, we still have many thousands of legally married gay couples in America, whose marriages are legally recognized in several states. That is not going to change, except that in the future, the discrimination voted into law by "the people" in 31 states so far will be thrown out, as was done for interracial marriage, and gay marriages will be recognized in all states and will share the same federal benefits as every other marriage.

And here is a eality check for you. The state migh regonize your play marriages, But there will be people that wont regonize it and you better get use to it. And you have no clue if it will get thwon out, Because it is not the same thing as interracial marriage. Cant compare SSM to IM. They dont even come close.

In the one example of the former you have cited it was the courts, who struck down the law which had been voted upon as being unconstitutional on the state level.
In the one example you have issued of the later, there was absolutely no restriction of the right to free speech.Had the "victim" exercised some common sense, she perhaps could have avoided an act of violence, which she incited.

Neither of these answers the question, they merely prove that you are willing to cling to a sweeping generality to attempt justify your bigotry. It would be no different than saying all Muslims wish to bring down America, that all Irish people are hot blooded drunks looking for a fight, that all Polish people are dumb, etc.

It seems you are bent on not answering the simple question of how allowing gay marriage would adversely effect you, or hiding behind a fictional generality as a justification. Ultimately it is sad to see someone so fervently dedicated to fighting a law which would have no effect on their life whatsoever.

Why should I give a damn about your recognition? We don't need your meaningless recognition. You don't figure into my life at all, and idiots like you have failed to show how you are affected by my marriage -- except that you don't like it. Well, to hell with you.

There’s a lot of things people should be able to vote on, but what rights a specific group gets to have isn’t one of them jerk. The Founding Fathers formed a representative democracy rather than a direct one specifically so that the majority could not trample minority rights.
Gays don’t love America? What about Lt. Col. Victor Fehrenbach an Air Force pilot who won nine Air Medals, one of them for attacking an enemy position while under anti aircraft fire? He’s gay and is unfortunately being discharged for that reason despite the fact that he’s shown the kind of skill and bravery sorely needed by this country. Do you honestly believe that there are no gays buried at Arlington, Normandy, the Pacific Islands, Flanders Fields or Gettysburg?

Um, seems like you do. Isn't that what you are pushing - mainstream America's recognition of the legitimacy of your "marriage" and your lifestyle?
