Vaccine-Autism debate reaches La Crosse

Oct 4, 2012 Full story: WKBT 17

The research suggesting a link between the Measles Mumps and Rubella vaccine and autism may be been discredited eight years ago, but there are still families out there, even in the La Crosse area who believe it to be true.

A mere 50 people showed up for Wakefield, who by the way can not practice medicine in the USA nor is employed by any medical facility. And best of all, it was held in a park shelter, you know where birthday parties are. Deer spoke at the University of Wisconsin. Big difference. Wakefield can only rent shelters and he probably wasn't the one who rented it since he's a non resident. I bet he got a follower to foot his bill.

Like I said, its always Wakefield. Where are the so-called studies that prove no connection between vaccines and autism??? There's supposed to be 1,000 studies. Instead they bring up Wakefield again and again trying to get more mileage from this bogus story.

That's right, they bring up Wakefield again and why? Read the article. It's funny when you catch anti vaxxers who cant even support their own hero being in Wisconsin!

Hardly. one poorly organized event isn't the end of it. Whats garbage ditz is the portayal of Wakefield as the head of an anti-vaxx movement. You said he makes vaccines. Its like calling parents who wittness their child regress AFTER VACCINATION an antivac for reporting it. Thats what we in Winnipeg call DUH!!!

I never said Wakefield makes vaccines. See how anti vaxxers cant get anything right? I said he had patents for vaccines, and that was in the UK. We all know how it went. He's wshed up unemployed and instead of some creditable doctor, all he can manage is to be invited to a park. No one is calling 'those' parents anti vaxxers, either. What an anti vaxxer is, is people from Winnipeg going to every article with one-liners claiming everything is vaccine-related injury, and relying on 'those' parents as his science, and cant get any statement accurate.

As for Wakefield, he's a cry-baby who only showed up in Wisconsin for one reason, and it wasn't the right reason. It's clear Wakefield could care less about any family.

How do you get a patent for vaccines with no vaccine to offer for testing? TRIPLE DUH!!

How do you think the application for the patent got there? Someone pretended to be Wakefield? Haha. He had a formula, which included some secret ingredient to prevent GI issues.

Unfortunately, one of Wakefield's many mistakes is listing the hospital/school on the patent without their knowledge. Wakefield denies it was a vaccine; he claims it was treatment but from the info below of the patent, anyone with an ounce of science knowledge wont fall for that claim.

"Immunospecifics is at present no more than a concept, but one with a unique opportunity. The strategic goal for the venture will be to achieve full regulatory approval for the use of antigen (infectious agent) specific transfer factors in a variety of clinical conditions where existing treatment regimes are either non-existent or have limited effectiveness. This strategy will permit the company to establish a clear technical and medical lead in this area with a resulting dominant market share. Paralleling the use of [transfer factors] as therapeutics will be a research programme aimed at demonstrating the value of [transfer factor] as a vaccine."
"Medium term objectives for the venture will be: 1) to take the purified and characterised measles specific [transfer factor] through formal product registration by undertaking phase II and phase III clinical trials; 2) establish the most appropriate route for the commercial development of the product; 3) develop the potential for use of [transfer factors] as vaccine replacements; 4) introduce new anti-infectious agents TFs to the company’s product development portfolio and take them through to formal product registration."

Don't miss the part about vaccine replacements.

You are so dumb. It says "CONCEPT" A concept that might be used instead of vaccines. Do you not get that alternatives might be developed? Of course you don't. more duh.

Talk about how dumb you are. The concept was already invented, what do you think transfer of an antigen concept is?? LOL! Let me help you out! It's a vaccine!

As if it would make a difference if a vaccine is injected or not. Just how do you think the antigen was going to achieve transfer?? Key factor is the 'vaccine' patent, and it's intent at the time. Within it, it boldly also states "If successful this concept will be developed further in collaboration with a major pharmaceutical company, such as Glaxo Wellcome’s Jenner Institute."
Maybe look up just who that is and the history of it. And don't miss that "dominant market share". Wakefield was planning on being a gazillionaire. Now, he can only be a janitor with less than 50 followers, at a park.

No, saying YOU don't have a clue is far more accurate.
