I did not mean to start arguments either. Just expressing an opinion. In my mind at times I struggle with the thought of are any of us really in titled to any financial gain. I know this will sound crazy to some but people do die. No one gets out of here alive. Now please don't jump all over me but my dad made it to 72 and mom made it to 75. Would have loved to have them longer but that seems to be up to God. As for me I've made it to 58 so far and if I were to go today it's been a good life. Yes I have filed for all 3 of us because it's money and I can use it just like anybody else. I admit that at the time of my parents death the fact that they smoked never entered my mind.

I am sure that this law firm earned every dollar that they where awarded. But suspect that they had many backers, and I wish that I had some stock in them. Your recipts are in the mail, and mine came from Seattle today.

I found my smoking record on a insurance application on page 1. I also had a picture of me smoking. My doctor also wrote a letter stating I was a smoker. Most hospitals have records on micro film, they sent copies of my records to my doctor.

All the workers going through the decision making, will have to be paid.I am guessing the payoff to be about 10,000.00 if we even get that much.Whatever we get, it is money we didnt have before. We should be forever greatful to the people who suffered and died for it Has anyone else heard that we will have to pay the workers for GCG? I would think they get paid the GCG, what right would they have to take it out of the fund. Just doesn't sound right to me. Any others thoughts on this?

I have not read or heard anything about having to pay GCG. If you go to their web site they are a company with 400 employees that handles class acion settlements and on the video it says they are hired by the attorneys. I am assuming (uh oh) that the attorneys will be paying them out of the millions they recieved.

I am under the impression that I read somewhere that the employees of the GCG and/or ETF are being paid with the interest earned on the $600 million fund.

The answers you seek can be found looking at the Miami Court Docket On line. Look at the pleading and look at the CT/C Orders. If you can go thier and read the documents. They will reveal who got paid and when.

Pay out Dec. or early 2009. Seem to recall something about the funds being able to be taxed and something about possible paybacks to Medicaid and I think both of those are still up in the air. I can't seem to find the place where I read all this so I hesitate to say anymore for fear of giving out wrong info.
