OK, I was born here my children were born here. I pay hundreds for health insurance and I have to tell my kids they can't see a pediatrician because I can not afford the co-pays and deductables. If the state doesn't care about my kids, why should I care about the immigrants kids?

Why is it they want to take away the insurance for LEGAL immigrants who entered this country lawfully...but give tuition breaks to ILLEGAL immigrants who by admission broke the law to get here and then drain our country's resources?

Who you care about is your business. These are LEGAL immigrants that work and pay taxes just like you do. Because they work and pay taxes they are entitled to the same representation that you get. Whether it was your parents or their parents or their parents, somewhere along the line it was immigrants that made it possible for you to be born here.

Immigrants pay the same co-pays and deductibles as you. The plans are based on income, not immigration status. Either you have the wrong insurance plan for your family's needs, or you need to get a job.

This is so wrong - those that have gone through the correct procedures to come here LEGALLY are getting the shaft. Let alone the fact that those of us born here get nothing. But those ILLEGALLY here can get all the benefits they want.
What a slap in the face!
Why doesn't our Government see this?
I've heard they do it for the votes - don't you have to be a LEGAL Citizen to vote?
Someone let me know when the Revolution is to begin I want to be in the front line.

I guess we're in a community of a bunch of people that can't read. And I'm not talking about the illegals. It says legal immigrants. Learn to read, morons. Oh yeah, this country is a country full of immigrants. Everyone here is a descendant of an immigrant or did you fail in history class because you guys were illiterate?

By far you are an _____! If you are so smart fill in the blank. Before you mock others just realize that you're lack of knowledge is excused.

I do have a job, that is how I get my health insurance. And no it is not the same - those on state health insurance have much smaller copays and most do not pay deductibles.
For instance, I pay for Blue Cross and know someone that gets Blue Cross through the state the copays are different and they do not have a deductible to pay either.
Yes, the plans are based on income but the plans are also at a better rate than those of us paying for it through an employer.
Get off the state assistance and you might know the difference.

Yes, somewhere along the line someone in my family was an immigrant.
But guess what? they never recieved any state or government assistance. I do not understand why these people now believe they are entitled to anything. You either work hard for what you get or you get nothing, that is the way it should still be!

Co-pays and deductibles vary from employer to employer, and are partly dependent on the size of the group being insured. If you work for a small company, one person in your small group getting very sick is a major hit for the group experience. Expect an unpleasant surprise. In a big group, the impact is diluted. Likewise, some employers buy the cheapest plan they can, with high copays and deductibles, caps on coverage, etc. to cut costs as much as possible. Some employers spend more to buy a better policy for their employees. This is more common in fields where there are shortages of skilled workers. In order to compete for workers, they offer a better fringe benefit package. Makes it hard to do apples to apples comparisons with any confidence, because health insurance policies are customized for each group. Your Blue Cross policy might be less attractive than the state plan, but the company down the street from you might have a much better plan than either yours or the state's.

That's because it's likely those benefits weren't there for them. They came for the chance to work and seek the American dream. Our government since FDR has created this problem of entitlement. The American dream is to sit on your arse and collect a paycheck. There is no problem with immigration in this country it's our Government that's the problem. Rid this country of social programs that allow generation after generation to suck off the taxpayers teat and you'll get a different type of immigrant and I have no problem with them.

Really well said that sums it up.

Daily Horoscope for December 2

Capricorn

The Gemini Full Moon brings situations at work to a head; there may be a sudden event that shakes up the office, but you should be free and clear of any real trouble. The real issue is the one you have most likely been avoiding: what sort of state is your health in? Have you been buying larger pants each year for the past three or four years in a row? Is your idea of strenuous exercise scooping hard ice cream out of the carton? If so, it's time for some changes.
