I googled Topamax and sexual dysfunction because I wondered if anyone else had been experiencing the same thing I had. I took it over about a four year period and my orgasm was almost nonexistent. I wasn't sure if it was the Topamax that was causing this as I was taking other medications also. I have been off of the Topamax for seven months now and after about two or three months my orgasm was back to full intensity. Just thought I'd share and maybe others have experienced this?

I was on Topamax and its generic form for over 7 years. Didn't realize it had killed my sex drive until I was taken off and put on a new med 2 weeks ago. Now I have a sex drive again! Taken off because it gave me kidney stones. Another thing they don't like to mention. Only experienced the weight loss and tingling for first year. Unable to drink carbonated beverages for about 4 years. That finally got better. Had the sexual dysfunction for about last 3 years. 200mg a day for geniculate neuralgia. It helped that though. Kidney stones are horrible though.

I have been on the generic version for 6 months now for excruciating migraines. My dose is 200mg nightly. That combined with a low-tyramine diet has been my God send. Talk to your doctor's people! They will, or should, listen to you. I see a NP at the neurological office. She is amazing.

I have ordered prescription drugs (without a prescription) online from http://inhousegeneric.info about two years ago, and was pleased with the speed and quality of service.
I'm thinking of doing the same thing with my medication. The meds is expensive, but there is a generic version available overseas.
I love the idea of taking responsibility for my own health (or lack of health) and skipping the bureaucracy... to say nothing of having to drive to the doctor, wait in line, yet again, to get a prescription refilled.
http://inhousegeneric.info very clear and informative site, simple ordering process and very fast delivery. All round excellent service - will use again.

I have used http://qgeneric.info/#kizr for about 3 years and find their products to be reliable and speedily delivered. The Support team are very promt and helpful in solving any issues that arise, caused by my errors not the company's. I was a little sceptical initially about buying generic products rather than brand names. However, the Mens' Health products I have bought have been equally as efficatious as the brand names at a fraction of the cost.

I have always had problems achieving orgasm with a partner. I've been on everything too since before the loss of my virginity. Effexor, Paxil, depakote, cymbalta, topamax, abilify, lexapro you name it. Effexor decreased my sex drive completely. Topamax seems to decrease my sex drive once I take it and make me unable to achieve orgasm about 30 minutes-an hour after I take 100mg at night and I take 100mg in the morning. However I suppose after a certain time period (maybe 5-6hours?) after my first daily dose I'm good to go again. I do feel tingling in my extreminties and I often forget words. That's frustrating since I feel like I need my brain to think. If it weren't for google I'd be lost. Maybe some of you should try taking it AFTER going to *bed* though.

Same. No intensity. My orgasm...when I feel like having one, that is...is how I imagine a mans is with a very thick condom on. DULL.
Which sucks, because I've lost so much weight, I look better than ever and don't really care about having sex at all.

I have been on Topamax for about two years now. I've experienced severe nerve problems, jerk like movements in my legs, acne (mostly in my hair line)
and an absolute shut down in the sex department!!! My wife and I were VERY active before I started this drug. I even tried erectile dysfunction medications and they did not help. Topamax has the potential to have very serious sexual side effects. It goes without saying that I have recently stopped using the drug and I've "loved" about ten pounds off of my butt!!!!! Everything is back to normal...thank god my wife was patient because she thought it was her for quite some time.

The tingling in the arms are normal. I recently found a new neurologist (because my old one was horrible and not informative at all) but have been on Topamax for over 5 years and he mentioned "Tingling arms or legs" and I was shocked because I do get that occasionally. He said it was normal, that Topamax does that to you.

Hope all is well!

Yes I experienced the same thing. I have been on the generic brand of Toamax for several years now, but have up'd my dosage to 50mg twice a day for a bout a year now and have now started having problems achieving orgasms. I am taking the medication to treat migraines. So, what does a person do when your boyfriend things he's the problem. I am going to back off of my medication and see if the medication is the problem. Thank you for your post I have wondered if it was the medication causing the problem.
I am weaning myself off Topomax due to the same diminished/ nonexistent orgasm. Love the migraine control but this side effect unacceptable. Thank you for your posts.

I'm on a very minimal dose of topimax which I take at noon for about a 3 weeks now. It has helped with headaches and weight loss a lot, however, the past few times I have had sex with my husband I have almost reached orgasm (so very close) but without success. It has left me in tears because it is so frustrating and the sexual relationship with my husband is always something that has grown over time and really recently as of last year truly become amazing. I had no idea it was the mess doing thus until I looked up thus post. What's a girl to do? I'm about to flush them down the freaking toilet? The side affects far outweigh having the migraines! The tingling feet, the constant tired feeling, the lack if orgasm! If someone else. Don't get me wrong, I love not taking Motrin every 4-5 hours for headaches and I love the 13 lbs I have lost, but I love my husband more! Please comment...

I am taking Topamax 100mg for past 6 years to help with severe migraines issues.Enjoying sex is no longer part of my life for very long. I decided today to stop the medication for my husband to stop thinking he is the cause of our very poor sexual activity.
I rather find another solution for my migraines even if I am fearing the very next one.
