Whether he has AID's or not is his business. Concerntrate on his music and leave his private affairs alone.

I beleive Tuku does not have AIDS. However, I beleive there is a 99.9% chance he has HIV. This may develop to full blown AIDS but until that happens, the man is right to say he is AIDS free.

As for those what say its his business and "so what if he has it"... I say, as a public figure who has been fighting HIV/AIDS for over 15 years now, he has a responsibility to his fans and the general population to publicise his own status. This serves the purpose of strengthening the fight against it by reducing taboo, showing that is does not discriminate and more importantly, raising AWARENESS!

its not for us to judge him,i believe that its his private life and people can not intervene in that.thats the very stigma which is not wanted. The man has done well for himself and the country as a whole, lets respect his private life and support him instead.

Keeping things private especially regarding people in the public domain has seen the destruction of African today. Stigma is fuelled by keeping secrets as it gives the impression that societies views have not changed but people have just become tolerant - especially if noone talks about it. Tuku took it upon himself to spread the word against the deadly HIV. He promoted testing and monogamy as well as treatment and understanding for those already infected. Therefore he should know better. His voice has authority and travels far. It therefore stands to reason that he can be a valueable tool in the fight against the deadly virus. Life does not stop just because one has tested positive and I can bet you my life savings, we will continue to respect him as a world top class artist despite his status. I therefore disagree with you and stand in my belief that silence resolves nothing - it is an avoidant tactic the prevents real solutions from being sought after.....

Even if Oliver Mtukudzi is HIV positive or not, but I am his number 1 fan. And we must remember that HIV affects all of us.

Everyone in this world is HIV Positive unless tested negative. Fellow people, being HIV Positive does not mean one should be discriminated. This is the time we have to give Oliver more support and love.

As long as you are an adult and in a relationship
you are at risk so stop critisizing Tuku and take care of yourself. I soo love Tuku and think he is and will always be the greatest musician Zimbabwe

people should concentrate on bread and butter issues and leave our dearest father, brother, uncle Mr mtukudzi alone.
We know that its up to the doctors to do a blood test and determine the outcome of those tests for peoe to interprete. So long the blood test remains private or was not taken we should solely rely on his word that he is diabetic.
People should know the difference between HIV/AIDS and diabetics before they make a charexter assasination on our greatest musician of all time.
It does take a character of Tuku to publicise his status and he did so with honesty. From our history as people,it was observed that people do take a bigger interests in other people affairs by ignoring theirs.
The issue that we shold be concerned about is to map the way forward on reducing the deady virus that to assasinate the charecter of our beloved brother,Tuku.
To Tuku I say keep up the good work you really deserve a life time aaward for the good work that you did for us.

Even if he is eligible for a life time award that shouldn't stop people from saying he is dying. He could be HIV negative but the woman band member he had an extra affair with ,Mwendi, died of AIDS.Tuku looks very sick .He should just tell the truth. He should be on the forefront in mapping out the way forward instead of lying.

Before Oliver Mtukudzi can reveal his status, whether, negative or positive of aids, why dont people concentrate on going to the hospital and be tested themselves, and worry about their own health and the health of their families, for his age, he has done extremely well compared to most musicians in Zimbabwe that died very young, why cant people appreciate that, even if he has to die today, l do not think he has any regrets, as he is financially stable, lived a good life and his family are well sorted. So at the end of the day, we should not make a big story out of nothing.

I saw him at the mall and he definately has AIDS.He has grown so skinny and dark.I believe its probably full blown. The man just has to be honest about it.
If he was not a celebrity he probably would have admitted it.
I saw his beautiful wife as well.I hope she doesn't have it

Thank you Stephen. It is unfortunate that some fans have gotten into the habit of protecting their idols even when it's not called for.Anyone can have AIDS if they are not careful.

It is our business as his fans to know that our icon is not feeling well and has the deadly disease too.So it teaches us that anyone can have AIDS including our icons.

I didn't know that our icons can have AIDS too since they are always denying it and singing against having it ,advising us to use condoms, advising us to have one faithful partner etc.So I thought they were singing about what they do.
