My 21 month old son catches more "virus" (what the doctors tell us) then any other child I know. We are at the tail end of 5 days of 105+ temperature that they have been unable to pin on anything. Here is his history:

9/2011 Chronic Ear Infections starting at 6 months.

1/2012Tubes in at 11 months.

5/2012 Persistant drainage from the right ear, right tube removal at 14 months.

5/2012 Hospitalization for 106+ fever for 4 days at 14 months, Blood work all came back relatively normal including immunology labs.

6/2012Allergy tested: No significant problems

9/2012Persistant ear infections in right ear, right tube put back in at 20 months.

11/2012 106+ fever for 5 day, blood work and rosephin shots. No significant findings in the blood work.

In between these significant events he has had 3-4 diagnosis of croup, 2 diagnosis of hand mouth and foot, and a handful of more "virus" causing 102+ fevers. All in all he gets a sick every two weeks or so. It always develops into more then just cold symptoms. We have a four year old daughter who does not get sick like he does.

They mentioned PFAPA as a possible diagnosis but then took that back because he usually has other symptoms then just fever. They are referring him to an immunologist. But the senior Pediatric doctor said they probably won't find anything because his immunology labs were relatively normal. He says he has an over reactive immune system.

Any thoughts???

Its the vaccines lady. But your doctor is trained to never concede that. Instead they will run you around and offer pharmaceuticals. Your child might be well on the way to becoming autistic.
