My allergies are the worst in the Spring. I do experience some symptoms in the Fall, but Spring is the worst by far. What makes it so bad is not so much the itchy eyes, sneezing, stuffy or runny nose, but my entire digestive tract seems to go haywire. It seems that for the last 5 years or so, I've been getting awful stomach pain on the right upper side of my body and that includes heartburn and sometimes acid reflux. This usually lasts from the middle of March, until the first half of April. I don't suffer every day of the week, but it can last for days at a time, and then suddenly disappear for awhile. I first thought it was my gallbladder, but then it didn't make sense for the pain to go away. I told my doctor and he said it was fluid dripping at the back of my throat which ends up in the stomach causing inflammation and pain. Post nasal drip often ends up in the back of the throat and can cause digestive disturbances. The pollen which you can see is all around you so it's important to try and eliminate or keep away from it as much as you can. Of course, that's like trying not to breathe in air. It's impossible! But keeping your windows closed at this time of year and taking your shoes off instead of walking around the house in them, or at least cleaning them off, can help. If you have a pet that goes outdoors, you need to wipe them down with a wet cloth when you let them back in. Also vacuum your carpets and furniture daily if possible. Keep pets out of the bedroom and keep your home, particularly the bedroom, as dust free as possible. I've done all of these things and they can help, but it's not a cure all.

I take a Milk Thistle capsule every day to help my liver filter out the toxins. Antronex is good too but you have to get that from an holistic specialist or doctor. Another natural remedy that is helpful is Ivy Extract which you can get at the health food store. I go easy with my diet during March and April. I don't eat foods that are difficult or take too long to digest during this period and I've learned to chew my food well which greatly helps and is kind to your tummy. Remember that pollen can be and is usually ingested by breathing in air so it can cause great discomfort and distress to your stomach and esophagus. Drink plenty of water too and get the right amount of sleep every night. I'm looking forward to Summer. No allergies!

ETA: I meant to say "the pollen you can't see", but in the beginning or middle of the Spring season, you can see pollen; it looks yellowish to yellow-green. It typically settles on almost everything during this time.
