Are you genuinely unaware that the Republican Party was the anti-Slavery party?

Or did you just hope we wouldn't remember?

that's why it works so well in Japan...no hillbillys to buy guns from...
The ruling was upheld in June 2008 by the Supreme Court of the United States in District of Columbia v. Heller. Both courts held that the city's handgun ban violated individuals' Second Amendment right to gun ownership.[41] However, the ruling does not repeal all forms of gun control; laws requiring firearm registration remain in place, as does the city's assault weapon ban.[42] Additionally, city laws still prohibit carrying guns, both openly and concealed.[43]
Critics, citing numerous statistics, have questioned the efficiency of these restrictions. The combination in Washington of strict gun-restriction laws and high levels of gun violence is sometimes used to criticize gun-restriction laws in general as ineffective. A significant portion of firearms used in crime are either obtained on the second-hand market or in neighboring states.[44][45]
Results from the ATF's Youth Crime Gun Interdiction Initiative indicate that the percentage of imported guns involved in crimes is tied to the stringency of local firearm laws.[44]
Japan? Isn't that the place that glows in the dark after we dropped two night lights on them? U.S.A.= The most powerful superpower the world has ever known. Japan = NOT. At least compare us to an equal. Oh wait, we have no equal. The U.S. became the most powerful superpower the world has ever know and did it WITH the citizens right to bear arms in place. If something is working only an idiot like you would suggest changing it.

Hmm, the idea that one group suggests that the greater good of the majority by removing the rights of a minority is OK. Hmm sound just like what the dems have been trying to sell about Obama care, and gun control.

Answer this. Do you believe it was OK to throw a country into chaos, destroy an economy, shut down a major part of the government, cost the lives of over 300,000 U.S. citizens, and greatly increase the cost of food and raw goods permanently for the entire nation just to restore the rights of a minority? If blacks could have just defunded the government for a few weeks to remove the health care and job situation their masters were forcing on them would you have agreed to that being a better option even though they were the minority and their slavery was in the "best interest" of the majority and the country as a whole?

Agree with slavery = the greater good of the many outweigh the rights of a few. Against slavery = the rights of a few are just as important as the the rights of the many even if those rights are not in the best interest of the many. Which one are you?

Once again you prove you are an idiot. Gun ownership has nothing to do with killing kids or rights. It is a right to self defense. The 2nd Amendment just says arms as arms evolve (which the founders knew). The power to protect ones self from attackers as well as an oppressive government or other unforeseen reason. We arm ourselves not just from what we know can happen but also from those things we don't foresee. There is no right to kill kids in schools so gun rights has nothing to do with that. As shown before in Pearl MS a vice principal STOPPED a mass killing in school by HAVING a gun. Yelling fire in a theater is IF it causes harm. If it don't then no problem especially if there is a fire. It does not matter what YOU think but what those with vastly more experience than you thinks or knows. The armchair quarterback always knows whats best. NOT! Until you see an oppressed people who live or die at the whim of a dictator up close or face a true life or death situation where you or a loved ones life depends on your ability to defend against a real threat then all you are doing is just repeating what has been spoon fed to you. Until you REALLY know what you are talking about then your "OPINION" means squat.

Police have charged a Sydney tradesman who they say was building guns for a criminal gang.

Officers from the Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad arrested the 55-year-old at his home in the city's west at Greystanes yesterday morning.

They say the fitter and turner has been manufacturing and modifying guns, then selling the illegal weapons to an organised crime group.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2012-07-05/tradie-...

Police seized two automatic machine guns - plus a further nine in production - and other firearms including a home-made .22 calibre revolver, a loaded 9mm handgun, two silencers, a shotgun, an air-rifle and an air-pistol.

Blueprints and tools for the manufacture of firearms were also found, police said.

It's called supply and demand. You make it illegal then profits go through the roof and SOMEONE will provide the item, illegal or not.

The guns they make here are crude and simple but very effective
But 7,62 fired out of a 12 inch barrel will go right thru any personal ballistic armor and continue thru the armor of the guy standing behind him

"You just can't compare the right to gun ownership with the right to kill children in elementary school so the analogy breaks down."

That would be your analogy that breaks down since you seem to believe someone argued for a "right to kill children" previously.

"You don't tug on Superman's cape..."

Don't care about your fantasies.

"...you don't yell fire in a crowded theater."

You do if there is a fire...and there is nothing to stop you even if there isn't a fire.

"AND I don't think owing handguns and assault rifles is a right as outlined in the 2nd."

AND, what YOU think is irrelevant in the big scheme of things. Handguns and assault rifles (semi-automatic rifles) are covered under the term "arms" in the 2nd Amendment. "Assault rifles" are typically select fire rifles and are covered under NFA arms. Guess having 2 masters degrees still hasn't made you smart.
