…trained law enforcement officials…
Bullsh!t.
Hire a PRIVATE armed security company - they can look cop-like enough to the kids to make 'em feel safe and quiet and are an EXPENSE in the budget rather than 'assets'(i.e. somebody ELSE deals with their wage, staffing, insurance/compensation).

It works in banks and malls and industry, it can work in schools too - there's no difference between a Professional guard stopping someone and a cop.

The Pearl High School shooting was a school shooting that took place on October 1, 1997 at Pearl High School in Pearl, Mississippi in Greater Jackson. The gunman, 16-year-old Luke Woodham (born February 5, 1981), killed two students and injured seven others at his high school. Before the shooting at Pearl High School began, Woodham stabbed and bludgeoned his mother to death in his home.

The school's assistant principal, Joel Myrick, retrieved a .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol from his truck and stopped the killer instantly.

But of course the LIEberal crowd never acknowledges the FACT that mass shootings have been stopped by armed citizens.

Oh crap, what nonsense! Even at 1000 FPS there's still a LITTLE bit of time to waste doing nothing while you're waiting for the result. And then there's some time for the target to bleed itself out...

So:'instant' as in splitting an atom, no; 'instant' as in making yourself a cup of packaged soup, more likely.

Oh please do then get back to me. Almost anyone off the street can be a security guard yet teachers require years of training before being given control over your children. Many have served in the military or hunters themselves. Many own guns and have been around them most of there lives. Why would someone off the street be more capable than a teacher to protect your children? No one said force them to but if they want to "keep and bear" then why not? It is PROVEN that a law or a "defense free zone" sign does not stop killers. Even when provided PROOF that teachers can and HAVE stopped these killers the liberals just stick their fingers in their ears. Thankfully in my state they can carry and don't have to die on their knees begging a killer to spare the children.
