What legislation do you suggest we pass
Universal background checks.

As 90 percent of Americans agree.

Speed laws don't stop speeders.

I guess no need for speed laws, eh?

Universal background laws curb sales to felons, wifebeaters, and the mentally ill.

I understand why you would object to making it harder for you to sell firearms to people who don't qualify to own firearms.

Background checks have stopped over two million firearm sales Let's say a half of one percent of those would have ended up being used in a homicide.

Conservatively.

Background checks don't stop people from getting guns, they can't be enforced
******* LIE**********

Try buying a firearm at an Oregon gun show this weekend.

Let me know if they forget to do a background check.

More people are killed with blunt objects (hammers and such) than by rifles.

Of the remaining lives lost to gun fire daily I would suggest the possibility that some of them could save their own life if they were armed
Yet even when people bash you over the head WITH REAL NUMBERS that the gun in the home is DOZENS of times more likely to be used on someone IN THE HOME, often the wife: You insist you are going to save lives with guns in the homes.

FORT MYERS, Fla. A man called quiet, kind and gentle by neighbors shot and killed his girlfriend and three girls before turning the gun on himself in an apparent murder-suicide Sunday morning, police say.

Residents of the middle-class San Carlos Park neighborhood were shocked when they awoke Sunday to find Lee County Sheriff's Office cars blocking their streets and deputies and detectives asking questions

I've already told you that I'm not in the business of selling guns to anyone but actually there is no law preventing me from selling a gun to a stranger without conducting a background check.
Shug: I have never accused you of having morals, and it is because of people like you that we need laws- such as requiring background checks.

You are going to sell it to a stranger, Shug.

Are you going to ask him if he is a cop first?

So American's shouldn't be allowed to have guns to protect themselves because almost 9000 people per year are murdered by guns? When you compare that number to the hundreds of thousands who die each year from alcohol, prescription drugs, tobacco, and automobile accidents it seems to contradict the point that anti-gunners are trying to make.
I wonder how many of those 9000 were armed with a firearm of their own when they were killed. Probably not many and I would bet that many of them could have protected themselves or someone else had they been armed.
The author of this article seems to think that high capacity mags are to blame for these deaths but he didn't include any figures related to the number of shots fired in these homicides. My guess is that very few involved more than 10 shots fired and most of them involved only a single shot or maybe two.
the majority of those killed by firearms is by someone they know. You shouldn't trust your mother with a colt. I like booze and tobacco. I can't shoot my loved ones in the chest with them. That bad rule, the second step to hell amendment makes all of you crazy. Survivalists. How many of you are ready to blow away your life and hope. Or to legislate change? If an invader truly came you would find. No laws apply, it is your paranoia. God bless the United States. Get your own house in order. Stu

Get rid of that silly amendment. You go off the rails and kill each other. All the time. We must always fear ourselves and trust in the new soul, the loving stranger, the walking player. Learn to trust in god and listen. The rest of the world can come so far but no farther. America is crazy and paranoid. The children of god are not monsters .......but let's not continue destroying trade centres or blowing away campuses. That readily goes both ways . Bin laden was a freak made. Freaks need to disappear. Stu

Get rid of your guns. Hunter licences for pests that's it. Melt down the capacity for civilians to kill. Keep your army, get rid of the CIA. The moral power expressed must be moral and therefore powerful, every day in every way. Tell China and be cool. Deal with Syria and Ukraine and North Korea. It's a lot of work. China may help. Stu

There is no political reason in a global political sense for North Korea and Syria. China goes into North Korea, America goes into Syria. Russia can wait for a bit. We are the children of god. The powers apply, this small world. Stu
