Second Amendment next to be attacked

Oct 5, 2012 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: Reno Gazette-Journal

<![CDATA[In the 28 Sept. edition of the RGJ, a reader asks: Which amendment (of our Bill of Rights) "will be sacrificed next" because of foreign opinion and pressure? That reader's question was prompted by the flap over the "Mohamed video" and this government's reaction and bending of the First amendment for an apologetic response to the world. The answer is really easy. Your Second Amendment is the next victim. For decades, your right to keep and bear arms has been under attack in one form or another by your own government. Now, this administration is going to the U.N. to sign a treaty that will include language that will override the U.S. Constitution concerning your rights. So there you go. The U.N. will dictate to you what you can buy, own, use and perhaps, God forbid, defend yourself with. My question now is: Why do governments fear legal gun ownership? Mark Humboldt, Stagecoach

Above all else people want low prices , they don't care if it is made in china or if the store gives the employee 25 hours a week at 7.00 per hour.
We live in a selfish society.
Agreed. For me it’s important to support local business and buy American made goods when possible.

Their is a feed store near my house.

They have given me a lot of excellent customer support over the years and I just bought a very good quality bucket from them , did not need a 10.00 bucket (made in the USA) for my dog but I also stopped getting my bird seed from lowes and buy from them at two to four times the cost.

It is hard in these times to be loyal but this is one store I decided I wanted to try to help keep around and Lowes and Wal-Mart would never give service like these ladies do so I shop there.

LOL ! Just go in there (that local store), give them a $ twenty (for nothing), and then go to Lowes and get your bucket. Why drive up prices.

At Xmas time (December 1st maybe), I buy something at the local ACE hardware. They're nearby and many times only ACE has the product I need. WalMart or HomeDepot doesn't always have these things (found in old homes).

If America's socialists and communists shopped at Walmart, maybe Walmart could give their employees a pay raise.

But to not buy at WalMart because you're a bloody communist IS ALSO UNAMERICAN !!

I shop ACE frequently because they’re locally owned franchises. I don’t mind paying more.

No. Communists like you who give the reasons you give for not buying at WalMart ARE communists.

After it was obvious you're a proven communist, you gave the exact response every Obama follower/supporter gives when Obama is accused of being a socialist or a communist - namely, like all of them, you said the accuser doesn't even know the definition of a communist (as if it were something esoteric).

YOU (eternal cynic) are always displaying the traits of a Left wing (antigun) democrat/liberal. And everyone is supposed to ignore this pattern of behavior and continue to believe the opposite, except when you accuse me of being antigun (me being a hardline proponent of gun rights who opposes all antigun laws).

And every Obama supporter (communist) who makes that accusation (the accuser doesn't know the definition of communist) doesn't know the first thing about economic principles, and that's the main reason they're communists, and that's one important reason you don't like Walmart - Walmart's existence depends on capitalist principles of competition and free markets. Capitalism allows only the best to succeed, while communism cheats the best competitors for the benefit of giving all the inferior competitors an equal chance at succeeding.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and qwacks like a duck, it must be a duck, and you're a communist because you look, sound, and walk, like a communist does.

Why did ISRA ban you from their Facebook page? Could it be they found the truth about you? You’re a Brady plant trying to make gun owners look crazy.

I doubt you ever served, if you did you probably spent your entire time on latrine duty. Did you enjoy that job perv?
The last sentence is very common by antigun unAmerican socialists. When they disagree with the values of veterans they'll say the veteran never did serve in the military (they strip you of your patriotism and even your America citizenship).

ISRA banned me from their Facebook page because ISRA promotes antigun laws and they don't want me exposing them it on their Facebook page.

Disliking WalMart makes me an anti-gun communist? You’re a funny little noid.

Yes, we know. Everyone but you is anti-gun. What’s it like living a pathetic little existence? I have a great piece of advice to make your world a bit better. Give yourself a .45 caliber enema.

I do understand the point you’re making. I simply don’t agree.
The unfair part. A mega company moves into a small little town. They’re able to operate on a smaller profit margin. They have their own fleet of trucks to cut shipping costs. They’re able to leverage cheaper costs with vendors. So much leverage they’re causing some of their vendors to produce product outside the US.
Do you recall the campaign which helped Wal-Mart grow so rapidly? Sam Walton used to brag in commercials they favored US made products. No longer. Look at table 1 on this link http://www.epi.org/publication/ib235/
What kind of water do you use to make coffee? I get Zephyrhills water delivered to my home both in 5 gallon bottles and cases of smaller bottles. I drink a lot of water and of course use it to make coffee.
I'm so sick of the word "fairness" being tossed around in the new weak and whining America.

All you described here was a company that succeeded in making profits and spreads their business throughout the country using those profits.

Only when government intervenes and provides favoritism are things "unfair" to business but this is the REAL definition of "unfair". The one that is clear and quantitative.

I'm not saying that Walmart has not received this kind of favoritism - just that you merely describe BUSINESS and then say it is "unfair" because a company figured out how to get more customers than other ones.

I disagree with your assertions for a number of reasons, but the most basic of those reasons is that a Walmart™ is a very large corporation which pays less in taxes than local stores will. And while it is true that they both will pay the same in local taxes, that doesn't hold true for federal taxes due to the corporate welfare afforded by the U.S. Congress.
Additionally, local businesses are hurt by 'big box' stores, who themselves often pay a lower wage to their workers than the local small businesses, are able charge lower prices due to their employing what is essentially slave labor in Asian markets, and even get a tax break from the local government for moving in and 'creating jobs,' whereas the small, family-owned businesses get no such tax breaks.
So, all around, when everything is considered, the 'big box' stores rape the local economy.
Now, maybe you think that such is just fine, but the end result always tends to be that once the local family-owned small business goes out of business, the 'big box' store begins to raise prices because they managed to kill their competition.
If you call that 'success', then you're a follower of the psychopath J.D. Rockefeller who once proclaimed that 'competition is a sin.'

Walmart is the largest employer in the US. Walmart paying the lowest wages http://money.msn.com/top-stocks/post.aspx...

Walmart employees require government help just to get by . Many Walmart employees rely on food stamps to feed their employees. http://money.msn.com/top-stocks/post.aspx...

Walmart paid just $4.6 billion in taxes on income of $24.4 billion. The liberals complained about Romney. Why are they just as critical of WalMart?

They also received $1 billion in government subsidies http://money.cnn.com/2004/05/24/news/fortune5...

What? You should read specifically the comment I responded to and then notice that I said "what you describe here...." in response to it. And why are you using examples of government favoritism here as if to dispute something I said when I clearly said that to be "unfair"?

Based on the comment I responded to we should all be hating the internet businesses as well and we should all be going to the butcher, baker, and farmer's market every week instead of the grocery store. I in fact do go to the baker and the farmer's market but I don't hold it against the grocery stores for moving their chain into my city. When I started painting I had to use the most inferior supplies or was just severely limited in supplies because I could not afford the astronomical small art store prices but then a Hobby Lobby opened up and later there were internet distributors and it literally changed everything regarding what I could produce. I understand the value in supporting local business - and I do support them - but when they limit me I do elsewhere - just as they do when they don't limit themselves to distributing only local products.

This is a totally different comment than the one I first responded to. And AGAIN - as I CLEARLY stated - government favoritism and assistance IS UNFAIR but that is NOT what you described in your comment that I responded to.

Commenting on the internet is like a perpetual bunny trail. Hardly anyone considers, concedes, or actually argues the initial point. They just go on and on like they are receiving no feedback. Like some kind of exercise in constantly declaring themselves while pretending to communicate.

How is that.

Did they round up people and force them to shop outside of downtown ?

Did they block the roads leading in to downtown ?

Germany ?
Give me a break !
German government policy is to protect their domestic market.
The German government told Emeritus Air lines they had to RASE prices on flights out of Germany to protect the State Airline Lufthansa.
What the F does Germany have to do with the price of tea in China?

I did not read any of your links I have known of this IN THIS COUNTRY for years and it is called Capitalism .

Maybe , you will be happy we Government intervention comes for your guns because some people want them to.

People are always happy when Government goes after someone else.
