Second Amendment next to be attacked

Oct 5, 2012 Full story: Reno Gazette-Journal 70

<![CDATA[In the 28 Sept. edition of the RGJ, a reader asks: Which amendment (of our Bill of Rights) "will be sacrificed next" because of foreign opinion and pressure? That reader's question was prompted by the flap over the "Mohamed video" and this government's reaction and bending of the First amendment for an apologetic response to the world. The answer is really easy. Your Second Amendment is the next victim. For decades, your right to keep and bear arms has been under attack in one form or another by your own government. Now, this administration is going to the U.N. to sign a treaty that will include language that will override the U.S. Constitution concerning your rights. So there you go. The U.N. will dictate to you what you can buy, own, use and perhaps, God forbid, defend yourself with. My question now is: Why do governments fear legal gun ownership? Mark Humboldt, Stagecoach

"Why do governments fear legal gun ownership?"

Really..?..Does the writer really need to ask this question...?

The governments fear legal gun ownership because the people retain the ability to fight off more and more attempts by the government to exert more control over the every day activities of the people.

Does a school bully attack the kid on the play ground that has a baseball bat in his hand...?

Bullies do NOT attack those that have the means to defend themselves...government is nothing more that a big bully wanting to control the people.

LOL !

I was in the Marine Corps for six years in a combat MOS. Tell all of your loving followers your excuse for avoiding your patriotic duty. Naziism ?? Are you a Hitlerian nazi ?

Imagine it, a nazi like you telling me to choose another country. You hate Walmart (because you're a socialist) and you love gun control laws and you love the antigun pigs, and you believe the 2nd amendment does not prohibit the govt from regulating our weapons.

Yea. You want all gun owners like me to choose another country while you try to make America into a nazi shithole.

Why did ISRA ban you from their Facebook page? Could it be they found the truth about you? You’re a Brady plant trying to make gun owners look crazy.

I doubt you ever served, if you did you probably spent your entire time on latrine duty. Did you enjoy that job perv?

ISRA banned me for exposing their antigun cop members. ISRA is one reason Illinois' Govt bans public gun possession.

I oppose all antigun laws, all of them. Now you tell everyone which ones you don't, Traitor.

Walmart did not destroy anything but some corn fields.

Name one person who had a gun held to their head and was forced to shop there.

People have no loyalty and the family businesses that served them well for generations were forsaken for a nickel.

They absolutely destroyed small towns all over America. They destroyed local businesses in those small communities. They pay low wages which causes many of their employees to seek government assistance. They attempt to keep most employees part-time status to avoid paying benefits.

They have a long history of illegal labor practices

You’re right, nobody is forced to shop there. That is until they’ve destroyed all the competition in rural towns.

Spend your money there, that’s certainly your right. I will not.

I’m a socialist? Right, isn’t you sitting at home collecting government assistance? Your poor wife has to support your lazy ass because you had sex with a male cop and haven’t been right since. Miss your special cop? After all, he did give you a pearl necklace.

No, I enjoy capitalism and free markets. I have disdain for predatory business practices.

I spend very little money there.

The type of water I use in my coffee maker I can't find at the grocery store.

The point is it is a consumer driven business.

If no one walks through the door Walmart closes and people chose to shop there.

That is not Walmart's fault.

If we had a decent economy people would not work there and put up with there BS.

In the small towns people stopped shopping downtown , that is what killed the small town.

You can't seem to understand that it is the consumers fault.

No, both are wrong.

People shop at Walmart because of large selections of products AT low prices. People stopped shopping at small town stores because those stores had small product selections and high prices. The small town stores also had poor or inferior service compared to WalMart. Very simple.

Walmart employed every person who lost a job in a small town store. Did, or does a new business destroy some jobs and thus create unemployment ? Yes, this is one outcome of free markets or un-restricted capitalism.

Americans are still free (one of the remaining freedoms) to shop at higher priced stores and waste their money.

I shop WalMart regularly, and the local cops are always coercing WalMart employees to incite me to try to help cops to ban me from the store for bad conduct. The cops know Walmart has the lowest prices and the best service; Walmart is where most cops buy their target ammo.

eternal cynic is an antigun socialist who hates the free market and admires and loves our police state. Most socialists (if not all) are antigun (his hatred for Walmart is more proof of his antigun values).

Most small towns are the result of Farms. Are you referring to the box store chain, Farm & Fleet ?

I do understand the point you’re making. I simply don’t agree.

The unfair part. A mega company moves into a small little town. They’re able to operate on a smaller profit margin. They have their own fleet of trucks to cut shipping costs. They’re able to leverage cheaper costs with vendors. So much leverage they’re causing some of their vendors to produce product outside the US.

Do you recall the campaign which helped Wal-Mart grow so rapidly? Sam Walton used to brag in commercials they favored US made products. No longer. Look at table 1 on this link http://www.epi.org/publication/ib235/

What kind of water do you use to make coffee? I get Zephyrhills water delivered to my home both in 5 gallon bottles and cases of smaller bottles. I drink a lot of water and of course use it to make coffee.
