Why don't you update your brain?

Around April he has his bond hearing and his initially released from jail. Months later the judge feels he misled the court with his financial situation and puts him back in jail for a second time. This time his bond is $1 million.

Again, he posts bond and he has been free since July, with stricter bail conditions now.

Trial should start in 2013.

Guess Barefoot never heard about WWI, and the Treaty of Versailles. Or the "Regulations on Weapons Ownership", which banned private ownership of firearms. Sure the laws loosened up a bit in the early 1930's. However in 1938 firearms were confiscated, by force, from all citizens in Germany and occupied territories. If you failed to comply, execution.

Funny- you insisted polls said draft dodger was going to win the night before the election.

How are those 14 swing states working out for you, Dumbo?

Private ownership under the Weimar Republic was indeed sharply restricted - but Hitler opened it up to all but proscribed groups such as Jews.

I'm baffled by the parallel unless it's purely for the sake of making a deliberately provocative comparison between Obama/liberals and the Hitler regime. The situations aren't at all alike.

Really? Eisenhower disarmed the German citizens of their firearms in 1919, followed by the forced seizure of firearms in 1938? FASCINATING!!!
You have to take breaks between customers and get some air.

Eisenhower order ALL privately held firearms and ammo to be handed in. The Soviets decreed that any Germans caught with weapons or ammo- so much as a cartridge- could be shot on sight.

The 1938 act, BTW, expanded gun rights of most German citizens, not retracted it.

”What an aid and comfort to the invaders and to their Fifth Column cohorts have been the convenient registration lists of privately owned firearms–lists readily available for the copying or stealing at the Town Hall in most European cities.”
…American Riflemen February 1942
Assuming this is true, then:

1. The gunner arguments are centered around GERMANY and alleged seizures of arms by the Nazis - who supposedly restricted private gun ownership sharply, enabling them to maintain control of the populace. This claim is false.

2. Belgium and France aren't Germany, and were occupied territories. Of course arms were seized. Even the article admits that at most, firearms registration only made the Germans' job slightly easier.

3. The situation in wartime Europe has nothing to do with our present situation, and just as a lightly and partially-armed populace couldn't have defeated a modern, mechanized army back then, they couldn't do it NOW, either.

In regard to 1. above, I'd also say that MOST Germans SUPPORTED Hitler and his regime, and had no thought of rebelling against it - which makes the gunner's argments moot. The only firearms restrictions were on a few proscribed groups such as Jews, who weren't heavily armed anyway and would have had no chance against the German Army and security establishment.
