Gun murders per 100,000:

Vermont:.3

Alaska: 2.7
Illinois: 2.8
California: 3.4
As usual, it's the opposite. States with the most gun laws have the most gun murders
Ummm, no they don't, as your own stats show.

Wyoming has some of the most permissive gun laws but has MORE gun homicides per capita than Illinois.

Top 10 deadliest states:
#1-Mississippi
#2-Arizona
#3-Alaska
#4-Arkansas
#5-Louisiana
#6-New Mexico
#7-Alabama
#8-Nevada
#9-Montana
#10-Wyoming

Now what about those "anti-gun states"?

California is #40 in gun deaths per capita
Illinois is #43
New York is #45

That's the self-serving results coming from a bunch of biased ignorant "Gun-Free-Zone" azzhats who are about as bright as the forum's ersatz marine whose entire life is wasted on bestowing accolades on a chickenhawk who dropped out of bill ayers' lily white behind...despicable.
Dear PooperInLa, you have outdone yourself with this paranoid rant. Of course, no research findings are valid unless you agree with them.
You name Boston Children's Hosptal and Harvard University as part of the "conspiracy". You ask us to trust you rather than these respected institutions. Stop hiding those pills in your cheek. Big Nurse will find out sooner or later.

But the crime is less deadly without guns being readily available, which is the whole point.
We can't stop human nature to try to kill each other, but we CAN make it harder to do so.
Otherwise just give everyone their own personal nuke and be done with it.
You are just as dead regardless of the weapon or method.

Nuclear weapons, tanks, aircraft and the like are tools of States, individual weapons, rifles, shotguns and handguns are tools of free people.

Free people have the right of self defense. That right does not come from government or anyone else, it is a natural right. Until I misuse my rights, you have no moral authority to deny me those rights.

Guns are illegal in Chicago and Illinois requires a F.O.I.D. to buy guns, ammo, even BB's.
Obviously, gun control doesn't work in Illinois.
I agree with you. Chicago is a prime place to look at gun control and Illinois has more strict laws on guns than any other state - that is why we still do not have the CC.

FYI - my corporate headquarters, located in St.Louis, MO., has very lax gun laws - and many weapons entering Illinois come through Missouri. Just a ride over the bridge - been there - not a great place, especially north St.Loiui;

Also, Kentucky, on the bottom border of Illinois, have EXTREMELY lax gun regulatiions. Take this into consideration sir.

You need to look at surrounding states with lax gun controls, and the ease of interstate trasportation of these weapons.

Have you seen reports of registered gun deaths in Chicago? If you have not, you have your answer as to why these guns get there.

The guns in Libya could just as well have been part
of the 190,000 AK-47's and pistols that went "missing"
when Bush was in charge.

How many of those weapons ended up in the hands
of the terrorists and drug lords around the world?
How many Americans have been killed by those
"missing" weapons?

I wonder who profited from those "missing" 190,000
AK-47s and pistols. Bush and Cheney?

Perhaps it has nothing to do with gun control laws.

It may not match up exactly. Wyoming has a very low population density. That screws the numbers because they are posted in gun deaths per 100,000. Also, consider the high hunting numbers that may lead to accidental deaths, and may be people that flew in to hunt from other states. Also, I hear biker gangs are in reading there.

But yes, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas... Very high percentage of Blacks.

Also, check out FBI statistics on gun deaths by race. It's not racist if its a fact. Tell the FBI their stats are racist. Lol.

Wrong.

The overwhelming majority of women hurt in their own homes are the victims of their live-in husband or boyfriend; NOT from an intruder.

Without a gun in the house the woman can easily defend herself with a good long kitchen knife. All she has to do is let him know that if he ever lays a finger on her she'll kill him in his sleep.
As if he can't kill her while she sleeps. What if the man grabs a knife (or a bludgeon)? Men can take a knife from most woman.

No person can rationalize with an antigun nut.

Those are homes in the ghettos or low income/high poverty homes.

You're comparing the most irresponsible people to the remainder of the country.

There are ninety million gun owners - if gun injury probability was 40%, there would be millions of injuries by gun.

You're a psycho-babbler.
