Want to hear something funny?A big part of the Fast and Furious issue was the ATF wanted to arrest half a dozen people, primarily in Arizona for selling the guns. One guy was 20, on disability of $600.00 a month but did not appear disabled in any way. He bought 400 assorted assault rifles at one time from a particular gun store in Phoenix and paid just over $400,000 in cash when they were delivered. He had them loaded up in a box truck he showed up in. Minutes later he took posession of an unknown amount of cash from two adult males and drove of in their car while they drove off in the box truck.
The ATF request for a warrant to arrest the man was denied by the US Attorney because there was no crime. It is legal in Arizona as in most states for this to happen. The IRS was not interested either in a man whose sole source of income is a government disability check but has 400K to spend on guns. The same guy did it two times before this instance, the first two times was 50 assault rifles each, at the same gun store. The gun store is who tipped off the ATF.
Buy two handguns at the same time or even within a 7 day period, and it raises a red flag with the ATF.
