A big part of the Fast and Furious issue was the ATF wanted to arrest half a dozen people, primarily in Arizona for selling the guns. One guy was 20, on disability of $600.00 a month but did not appear disabled in any way. He bought 400 assorted assault rifles at one time from a particular gun store in Phoenix and paid just over $400,000 in cash when they were delivered. He had them loaded up in a box truck he showed up in. Minutes later he took posession of an unknown amount of cash from two adult males and drove of in their car while they drove off in the box truck.
The ATF request for a warrant to arrest the man was denied by the US Attorney because there was no crime. It is legal in Arizona as in most states for this to happen. The IRS was not interested either in a man whose sole source of income is a government disability check but has 400K to spend on guns. The same guy did it two times before this instance, the first two times was 50 assault rifles each, at the same gun store. The gun store is who tipped off the ATF.

Buy two handguns at the same time or even within a 7 day period, and it raises a red flag with the ATF.

Really ... A street buy is from a legitimate owner. And how did you determine this if all other legal means were already listed.
Never stated any were stolen. Your assertion was that most of the guns bought by criminals were bought legally.
Your GED must be working overtime
Go back and read my assertion once more. My assertion is that the majority of guns used in crimes were purchased by the criminal in what would have been a legal transaction provided the criminal was not a felon and was allowed to own guns.

All other means listed? Where is the purchase from a private owner listed?

Why was a gift from a relative counted in the 80%? Is it illegal to give someone a gun?

It is if the receiver of the weapon is a known felon, or otherwise not allowed to own one.

For the hard of hearing , the majority of guns that criminals have are stolen guns.

Guns shops get broken in to , it is not for the cash.

Guns have been stolen from distributers warehouses and even from factory floors but homes are the majority.

For the hard of thinking, the only thing asked for is some proof. I posted proof of it going the other way, with guns that were not stolen for the most part.

Nobody doubts that guns have been stolen. But all stolen guns do not end up being used to commit a crime. Some end up in a persons home that think they bought the gun legitimately.

The guns in Fast and Furious were not stolen.

Not stolen but the guns in F & F were illegal .

Like I said, if you advocate getting rid of laws concerning auto construction and vehicle operation because they are ineffective then you should just so.
Until that time you are making a fallacious arguement.
I’ve not advocated getting rid of all laws. I’m absolutely against more laws which do nothing more than inconvenience law abiding citizens. Are you unable or unwilling to understand that?

All you have to do is take a low paying job and get rid of all your possessions and make sure you have kids.
I have to ask, how smart is it to deny benefits to single adults without kids? Isn't that like telling all the girls they need to get pregnant? And of course, we can't be buying their birth control nor paying for an abortion. So we are really encouraging them to have kids aren't we?
Why would I CHOOSE to become just another dependent liberal stooge?

Yes, a special form is required for multiple handgun purchases. The buyer doesn’t complete the paperwork, the dealer does.

They do have my name on multi handgun purchases multiple times.

Lol. I hear ya. I just wait the week between purchases. I just don't understand the concept that purchasing multiple handguns should set off the red flags.

I believe they were looking for straw purchasers who were supplying "dealers" who would sell to gangs.

Top Home Boy gets his girlfriend to buy four guns then he sells to his homies.

Makes sense, but still seems like it would 1) take up a lot of man hours by the investigating agency, which translates into increased tax dollars. 2) instills fear in law abiding citizens that want to purchase more than one handgun at a time. 3) increase the workload on the gun shop with the extra paperwork, which translates into higher prices to the customer or less profit for the gun shop.

Now whoever said the gov't cared whether or not money/time/effort was wasted? Governments by their very nature are made to grow larger to suit the purposes of those who would use them to their own ends, thus the larger the more wasteful in turn creating the need for a larger government to sustain itself. A very vicious circle. Which came first? Bloated government or wasted tax dollars?
